You got it. Which, in theory, I don't have a problem with. A business's job is to generate profit. If illegals are using a system set up by the federal government to buy Kellogg's products, then that is good business for Kellogg's. I might not like it personally, but it is rational and logical from a business perspective.
What I have a problem with is this corporate values preaching trend. Companies like Starbucks, chik-fil-a and Kelloggs should focus on selling their product. Preaching inherently alienates customers, which is counterproductive to a business.
In 1990, Micheal Jordan, in response to criticism for not actively supporting a black Democrat Senate candidate, replied 'Republicans buy shoes too'. This reflected his very lucrative Nike contract, and the business sense to realize both sides contribute to any company's success.
lol. Daily Caller's mangling of Pope Francis' sentiments are possibly worse than Breitbart's spin.
Sorry. But NO REASONABLE HUMAN ADULT could POSSIBLY interpret the Pope's statements to mean what the Daily Caller said. Massively, massively unethical "news" outlet.
Apparently that is what happened to the media on both sides. It is anything but news.
Anyway, how did the thread get from corn flakes to Pope Francis?
Am I the only one that found that article's title kinda silly? "Far-Left Cereal Giant." How is it we live in a world where that can be a headline that people take seriously? CNN is no better, but that's the point. CNN isn't better but regular readers of this seem to be under the impression that Breitbart is.
To address the topic, boycott whatever you want. It's silly to think it will catch on. Chick-Fil-A, which a search revealed is a victim according to Breitbart, is doing fine because it's big political controversy didn't last, as they often don't. And that was what, 4 or 5 years ago? Today's news stories last a couple hours. Most who are calling for a boycott on Twitter will definitely eat a pop-tart within a month.
Also, their political statements hardly qualify as far left, but Breitbart is just capitalizing on the fact that 1) racial tension is easy money these days when it comes to whatever passes for journalism these days and 2) that few people who talk about "the left and the right" have ever once thought about what these things mean and how they can be measured.
I guess Breitbart had to push this off on Trump hate instead of on themselves for peddling such nonsensical, divisive articles.
Fwiw? I haven't eaten at Chick-fil-A in over 5 years.
I will not eat there again unless they get new leadership that doesn't donate money to anti-LGBT charities here and overseas.
I see no issue with boycotts of any kind. Talk with your money.
That said, I'm suddenly wanting cereal.

I honestly remembered this thread today, and had a coupon for a Post cereal, which I used on Grape Nuts, but I made sure to pick up some Frosted Flakes as well. I'll make a point to always purchase a Kellog's brand from now on.
