I'm 41 and I never been in a street fight during my adulthood. I guess that having CCW and being armed all the time forcing you to avoid confrontations.
I'v been in firefights but it was in the military.
This only applies to you hence the reason so many are in the news because they have been shot.
I was at Dairy Queen once when the Biter started throwing French fries at some guy at a table, they started arguing and the Biter told him to meet him outside.
He could have probably defused the whole situation by just saying "Thanks for the fries, friend!"
Back in early 90's since I had to lay hands on anyone.....Did have to draw down on a guy about 5 yrs ago....Dude chased me all the way home after a traffic incident. All the way down an 1100 ft driveway into the farm yard....I backed up as far as I could get without having to climb a fence before I drew. He got back in his truck pretty fast......
I *was* a 35 year NFL season ticket holder. Flare ups were common. Mostly pushing and shoving with some flying beer/soda. I only remember a couple that were really rough. Once I got beaned with a pair of binoculars that drew blood. Looked bad but wasn't much. Funny thing was the guy who hit me became a good friend over the years.
That sounds like when I was in college and FSU would play Miami. The Miami fans are crazy and would specifically bring objects to throw.
never been in one but I've been training all my life and constantly play out the scenario in my head for that one guy who looks at me the wrong way at the wrong time, might even happen today when I go get my new drivers license...you all may want to avoid your local DMV just in case or not make eye contact with anyone that look like this...
I've always been curious as to how many brawls the average man has been in during his life. So I thought I'd pose the question here. Also, when was your last fight, and did you feel you won any of these fights?
Since I asked, I should go first. Throughout most of my adult life, I haven't found myself in any situations/confrontations that would have led to anything physical. Highschool, I had a couple altercations. But I was very small and weak then, my punches were ineffective against these bigger guys.
My last "fight" if you want to call it that, was at a Pantera concert about 20 years ago. A couple guys attacked me in the bathroom, they got a few face shots in and stole my floor pass. I was just left stunned and bloody.
OK that's my turn! Let's hear your stories.
That's not a fight, dude. That's a robbery! That said, I had about 30 street fights from the ages of 13-18 while living in Brooklyn, NY. I won most of them.
I was attacked a couple of times in my suburban high school. My assailants were hospitalized as a result so they stopped. Being ready to respond to violence with damaging violence worked. I was never attacked in my slum High School as I spent most of my time teaching math to the "shop class" guys and they put out the word to leave me alone.
Not counting being on the Riverboats in 'Nam, I have never been in a fight as an adult. My attitude of being ready to respond to an attack with deadly force apparently stops people from attacking me. I have found that if you want to be safe: Be alert, Be aware and Be armed.
