The only way I can wrap my head around how anyone normal would support the democrat party is to surmise most democrats are totally uninformed about their party and what really goes on with it.

The D party now mostly consists of

Angry minorities -- they want the freebies and victim attention
Illegals -- they want amnesty and the freebies
Aging hippies -- too deeply leftist/socialist programmed to wake up
Elitest academics -- can't admit how stupid they actually are
Liberal journalists and MSM --- too much money and career advancement in keeping the liberal agenda to be fair and honest
Agitators/professional protestors -- no career with Rs (they don't riot)
Entertainment people/Hollywood airheads --- no career or mega money with the Rs ( conservatives don't like the excessive F word or profane behavior)
Snowflake Millenials -- can't relate to successful young conservatives who don't
live in their parent's basement, nor wear a boy-bun.

I hope this happens. The monster that the democrat party has become could always use another nail in its coffin to keep it utterly dead.

Wow...the handfull of Average Joe Plumber type Dems I know wouldn't vote for Obama because he was black. Then along comes Hillary...a WOMAN (and an unattractive one at that)...and now you're launching a Muslim into the picture?

And the "Shoot Yourself In The Foot" award goes to the Democrats.

Can anyone fill me in on WHY this guy should be the DNC chairman? I see no upside and a whole lot of downside to giving him the spot.

Yet, the Dem House Caucus voted Pelosi in, again. Money, money, money! Money! Will be ugly if Trump can deliver early on the essence of his campaign promises. The results may not resemble his literal words, but it is the idea, the essence that counts.

Dims in yuge trouble.

Inclusiveness. Another stab at identity politics.

The real anti-semites have always been far left wing liberals. It's not surprising to me at all that they are turning their party over to a Jew hater like Ellison.
Maybe you need to ask Charles Schumer (new Senate Minority Leader), and even Bernie Sanders (Democratic Presidential Candidate) what they think? Do they hate Jews too?

Edit: Question? How many members of Congress are Open Atheists? Not allowed?

Just checked, and it doesn't look like Ellison won yet -- when do they vote?

Here is an independents view on things.

1) Pelosi retains leadership despite an absolute massacre in the house under her tenure. That's not a normal thing for either party. What that tells me is that the same machinations that kneecapped Bernie behind the scenes likely squelched any serious challenge of her position. She's not likeable or charismatic and the dems need someone new and shiny to go in front of the cameras with opposition views to Trumps proposals. Instead they're going to be trotting out a shrill old white lady married to an investment banker worth about 50million bucks to rail about the banks and the rich? This is what happens when insider power plays win out over sound strategy.

2) DNC head, muslim = no big deal. Member (former) of nation of islam? = huge deal. Not only could that alienate a lot of democrats (especially jewish ones) but at a time when the democratic party has been pushing 24-7 about how the republicans are all racist and you trot a guy out that was in a group just a little bit better than the KKK? WTH are they thinking?

Especially with the democrats shooting themselves in the foot further by calling all trump voters racist when many just hated him a little less than Hillary. Politics 101, always blame the opposition or some faceless corporation or another country etc....never blame the voters! Instead it's a constant barrage that trump voters are stupid, racist, uneducated hicks. It's bad strategy to get at least some part of the house\senate\presidency back.

Lastly, the dems need to give up on guns. It's killing them in the Senate and a number of other key state races.

For the historically young and dynamic party, the democrats are showing themselves to be risk adverse, unable to change and live in denial to what is happening to them now.

They are going even more far left by electing Keith Allison to lead the DNC. Can they stop and consider how this will ever increase White working class votes in Mid West States?. No chance, and how can they not see the dangers of a Far Left Pro Islam figure to party unity going forward.

The DNC is en route to become the distant second party in national politics. It shows they have learned nothing from this election. Still remaining a coastal party of the elites and holding onto pro Black causes such as BLM and electing Allision , a known Nation of Islam supporter to lead them next.

Great week to watch the dems. First Pelosi and Schumer elected minority leaders , then the recount, the election of Allsion and the never ending excuses and finger pointing from the sore losers over the election.

Long may it continue. Keep doing what they are doing. This is a party that will take years if not decades to find a winning formula again.
