^And to imagine. In the early part of the 20th century, Detroit had the highest per capita income on the planet.

This speaks for itself.

Democrats bring crushing debt and the most ugly and depressing zeitgeist ever endured by modern man.

Where you still in diapers during the Clinton Recession, or are you intentionally ignoring that one?

Bill Clinton was in office when lending standards were loosened, leading to the housing bubble. Just because it took ~10 years for the bubble to burst doesn't make it Bush's fault.

The DotCom bubble is now counted as a "robust economy". It used to be called "irrational exuberance".

The most telling statistic I know of is the labor participation rate:
United States Labor Force Participation Rate | 1950-2016 | Data | Chart

Golly-Gee. Lookee what happened over the last 10 years.

^^^ You realize that graph only represents a 3 point drop. It's another example of the right, once again, manipulating data to tell the story they want.

Here's data you can work with: The Dow rising from 8K in 2008 to a record level of 19K today. I don't know about you, much my portfolio is much more attractive than it was under W. Judging from some of the loonies posting here, however, I look forward to reading how that is directly tied to Republican Lincoln's emancipation of the slaves. After all, as many of you keep posting, it's the fault of the fellow in office before (as long as he's a Dem). Bravo! Very post-truth!

I wonder if some of you actually believe what you're posting. But then again, I imagine many of you also believe Cruz's dad killed JFK.

Stinks that they take taxes out of your social security check.

That's not fair.

Democrats bring mediocre, stagnant economies. Republicans bring more volatile economies that can produce bigger booms and busts.

Nice try at redirection, but let's keep talking about that 3% drop. It's actually 4, but we'll go with your 3.

See, here it is since 1950. Around 1980 women starting going to work in great numbers and that shows on the graph. It was due to the horrible inflation we had in those years and many families simply could not make do with one paycheck.
Fact is, the labor participation rate is bad, and millions of people have simply given up. We all know that and we all know the government "unemployment figures" ignore it.

The civilian labor force stands at about 158 million today. So that 3% that you sniff about?........That's 4.7 million people. (4% would be 6.3 million)
You can easily check that because there are only 152 million jobs available for our 158 million person work force. Look it up.

152 million jobs is not enough for 310 million people. And that's a fact.
So let's hear all about Ted Cruz again....
