We understand we have been duped by the mainstream media, and it is painful, but the right who are now in power should take the high road. Trump and co. should be careful what they tweet and re-tweet.

Pizzagate was/is pushed by some internet bloggers for money and self described internet warrior/sleuths. This isn't a video game, for lols and likes. A struggling middle America with real life problems elected Trump, they don't need to be sullied by this kind of thing. Those in charge please respect your base, act like adults, pretend social media is for actual information and use it as such.

CNN is the most neutral news source that exists. NBC is fair.

We're talking about the NEWS. All the major networks have a NEWS division (how, where, why, what, who), and an OPINION division. Many people mistake the OPINION articles as news articles. They are not. TV shows that have hosts who give opinions are not NEWS broadcasts.

NBC has a news broadcast. You'd be hard pressed to find any opinion in it. It tells you who, what, when, where, how. It might report reactions or statements by others...but it won't slant or report NBC staff opinions or statements on the matter (unless the news article relates to the news org.).

Hannity is the only news-tertainment person who has "reported" fake news, that I know of. He did so without verifying first, then apple-o-gized later...after the damage was done, of course. Most people when they heard hte snippet, figured it wasn't true. That's how stupid the snippet was. But Hannity either didn't know or didn't care. Hannity is not a NEWS PERSON. He's an opinion guy who hosts a news entertainment opinion show (not to be mistaken for a news broadcast).

It's been pretty clear for about 30 years now that Donald Trump and co. are classless garbage. What in the world makes you think that such people are the least bit interested in being "careful"? Good lord. Wake up.

Liberals enjoy being in an echo chamber. That's what the war on fake news is ultimately about. It's about liberals making a conscious choice to retreat back into their echo chamber. You can lead a liberal to the truth, but you can't make him think.

Yet it was Donald Trump who was screaming it and all the news media did was cover him.His mouth got him in trouble and his loyal little followers drank the kool aid and did what he did and said what he said .No news media made him say a word about Mexicans,no news station made him say anything about Muslim,no news outlet made him insult a "Gold Star Family",.........that was all Trump himself.CNN or NBC or the NYT or WP made him say those things on tape that he said about women???Yet he said they did and Trumpettes believe him.

Just take the red pill and you can see the truth for what is. Take the blue pill and things like Pizzagate and the truth won't matter and you can keep believing whatever you're told by whoever's in charge.

You're absolutely right, OP. The left wants to be responsible for identifying/defining what "fake news" is, which makes them very powerful in censoring it, even if their identifications have no basis in reality.

Also, "fake News" has long been a thing. But it has usually been anti-Republican/conservative/America, so the left felt no need to complain. Now that some fake news targeted Clinton and her minions, the left is up in arms. Give me a break

To be sure, there is such a thing as actual fake news: Made-up stories built to get Facebook traction before they can be debunked. But that’s not what’s really going on here.

What the left is trying to do is designate anything outside its ideological bubble as suspect on its face....

The war on ‘fake news’ is all about censoring real news | New York Post

Correct-

The new liberal buzzword is "fake news".

Oddly the "fake news" to which they are referring a factual reporting of the news and conflicts with the far left, mainstream media, distorted propaganda. Fearing the fact that they have been "outed" as a propaganda unit for the far left, the mainstream media (and its liberal political allies) are "floating" this new idea of "fake news" in an attempt to restore thier damaged, biased propaganda pulpit.

Trump destroyed the liberal media in the election and has shined a light on the cockroaches in the leftist media outlets.

Maybe........................ just maybe...................... we might have some elements (or new sources) seek to report actual facts, rather than liberal democrat dogma.

And they're using that as an excuse to ban free speech on the internet and to strip away the peoples rights of access to information and education. Why the sudden phony baloney concern about extremist discussions leading to violence? I never heard them say we should stop talking about moslem immigrants or violence against police or racism or abortion. Why the sudden rush to become North Korea or China or Saudi Arabia?
We won't let them take away guns but we're okay with them taking away our internet.

You're right. The Left clearly wants to take away free speech. They want to take away guns too and give away the whole country to immigration for votes. They really are authoritarian and communist.
