I honestly think Bernie was railroaded in favor of the Clintonian centrist neo-liberal wing of the Party. That side stretched identity politics and demonizing the opponent because it didn't have the populist message of Sanders that grabbed a hold of the anti-establishment mood of the country.

I really don't know how the Dems can come back from this now considering a huge swath of the country both left AND right have this strong anti-globalization, anti-establishment tendency. Who is going to win on the Dems platform now? Who is going to win saying that we need more free trade, more identity politics and ignore the class and populist economic issues? Especially since millenials are more progressive than neo-liberal?

George soros endorsed Barack Obama 8 years to run for president even though Hillary Clinton wanted it.
Who controls the Democrats? Soros does.

Bernie Sanders will not stick up for as an American.

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 2.5 million votes.

That's nice but candidates win states in 51 separate elections not independent votes in a national election. I get your point but she didn't win.

Obama did though and Clinton couldn't even pick up the counties Obama won twice.

Is the argument here to gain the support of the electorate(the people) or is it to win 270+ electoral votes ?

If it is the first, then yes, the fact that HIllary clinton won he popular vote does matter, it is the basis of the Thread. You are arguing that Democrats dont have the support of the people and that just isnt true. At least 49% of the population believe Hillary Clinton has policies they like, and like them more so than Donald Trump.

If it is the electoral college, then I still believe Democrats are just fine because of the blue wall. Wisconsin MIchgian and Pennslvania together is only a 10,000 to 80,0000 vote spread that can be flipped. Obviously so can Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, and Iowa.

A couple of Thousand votes in each of the 3 states i mentioned, and Hillary Clinton is President, not Donald Trump.

If he had blown her out , then you might have a point(although the reason people say they voted for him would still change the argument), but when the difference is only a couple thousand votes, it is clear that the states can swing.

She didn't win where it mattered. She didn't flip the states you mentioned even though there was a small margin. I mean quit apologizing for mediocrity. Almost winning isn't winning. Getting the popular vote when the electoral college delegitimizes any concept of a popular vote is spurious. There are so many factors that make the popular vote irrelevant when the EC is in play.

Obama was able to win. TWICE. Why couldn't Hillary? Why couldn't she muster up the votes she needed in key states and counties that went for Obama twice? Why didn't she fulfill the predictions of many polls and the news media's confidence that she was going to win in a huge landslide?
