You mean like when Obama has ignored the advice of his field commanders on force levels for troops in combat? He has done that 6 times. No problem there, huh jambo?

Chalk it up to ever present liberal hypocrisy.

He's lazy and doesn't want to bother. He's a businessman who sells his name to businesses. He is not used to actually working and having to pay attention to anything other than whatever he wants to attend to at any moment.

He asked that his kids get the security briefings. The NSA, to its credit, explained to him why that's not gonna happen.

Do you have a link that states his kids should get the briefings and the NSA response? That is unacceptable if true, because Trump needs to understand the importance of these daily intel briefs.

Anyone that believes the Intelligence briefing does not change every day is delusional. The world changes every hour and our intelligence people can barely keep up.

Ignorance is bliss until the whole thing caves in.

It was all over the news. Do you read the news?

This is precisely how the attack on 9/11 happened. Bush went on vacation and left the Presidential Bulletin stating that AQ is preparing to attack us inside our borders, sitting on his credenza, without reading it.

Remember? He told us waaaaay back during the campaign that he knows a lot more about the intelligence and military situations than the generals and the intelligence professionals. So the answer to your question is yes. He does not think he needs them. It's only you and I and the citizens he supposedly represents that need him to attend the intelligence briefings - he is fat dumb and happy whether he attends them or not. That is, until s**t happens. Then we are all going to be in a world of hurt.

It was Cheney, Rumsfeld and the rest of the neocons that put the spin on the CIA data, and biased the presentation of this data to the public, to support the outcome they wanted all along - that the US should go to war with Iraq. The line "Bush lied, people died" is sorta true, because the whole war was based on a lie, but I actually feel sorry for old George, thinking he was duped as much as the rest of us.
This is true. I recall that Bush SPECIFICALLY referenced a British Intelligence report as evidence of the WMDs, apparently since there were no American reports showing that. Turns out that British report wasn't good or something...obviously. American intelligence reports did not state that there was evidence of WMDs in Iraq. It stated the obvious: that we knew that Hussein had gassed the Kurds years ago, so had some WMDs at that time. But that had been years ago.

France stood firm and required clear evidence of WMDs in Iraq before it would commit its people to die there. And for that reasonable position, Americans quit eating and drinking anything they thought might come from France. (LOL!) And Americans wanted to leave the U.N.

France was correct, as it turns out. There was no clear evidence of WMDs. It pays to have a collective discussion among allies about something that serious. Hundreds of thousands died, and more lost their eyes or arms or legs, including children. Homes were wiped out. Treasures of the earth were lost (Iraq is home to the first city on earth and had some invaluable pottery and other treasures made by the first city dwellers on earth.)

I have ALWAYS hated that guy. "The Donald" during his Ivana days and his divorce and marriage to Marla Maples was all over TV in the 80s and I thought he was disgusting back then. My opinion has simply not changed. If anything, it has grown worse. He's making a mockery of the Office of President and that makes him even more unlikable.

I've accepted that he's highly likely to be inaugurated. I just plan to hold him to the very basics of doing this job, if he wants to do it.

If he's successful, I'll be the first to say he was better than I thought. Doesn't mean I'll ever start liking him, though. He'd need a personality transplant.
I remember those Ivana days and then Marla (mistress *** wife). I travel a lot with work all over the country but was home in NYC those years and then left for a while during his marriage to Marla. The only thing that makes me uncomfortable regarding his family is the images I've seen of he and his daughter, Ivanka (who is very beautiful btw). Eww, I shudder at how the pictures read (their body language) which I've seen of them taken in public. I shudder even worse thinking what that may translate to when they're in private.

Like you, it's the mockery of the office which he does that bothers me. He started earlier though by mocking and debasing our election system saying if he doesn't win then the whole system is RIGGED (he is no better than the prime ministers - dictators in Botswana, Gabon, Liberia and other African countries who'd rather take the whole country down to hell than accept the fact that they lost the election). He seems to not respect and revere the history of the country. He seems to look down on: Wash DC (as does his wife), the White House, and the non-glamour parts of being the president.

I've visited many historical sites, most recently Mount Vernon this past summer, and I have so much respect for those who've gone on before and what they attempted to do. I was shocked to find out that many of our past presidents were very humble people who suffered a great deal in their person lives. They were not perfect - no one is but I still respect the work they did to help make the country what it is and I think the office of President should be respected. Heck all people who do the work of governing, even mayors of cities and small towns. I hope he will show his office and all people which he will swear to serve the proper respect but I get the feeling that if the person isn't a billionaire or millionaire mover & shaker, he can't be bothered with them other than to name-call if they offend him. I hope I'm wrong.
