We have seen them start too move into grocery delivery, but now it looks like they are going to rollout some very advanced grocery outlets to compete directly. https://youtu.be/rTnDDOgk2rI

This is going to fail, not because people wont use it, but because the second wifi goes down, people will either walk out with their stuff "freely" or leave it and never come back because of the inconvenience.
My wife and I use Amazon for grocery delivery fairly regularly, but we use the one that picks up from New Seasons. It comes in handy at times when we are too busy during the weekend to make a run to the grocery store or during the week when we need a few items and it is just easier to have them deliver it.
I hope so.. I'm not a big fan of waiting in lines... I wish wal-mart would implement this technology. About the only place you'd have trouble are things weighed by the pound, such as produce. Of course, there goes a lot of jobs if they do this... but I'd love to be able to walk out without waiting in ANY line or dealing with this obnoxious self checkouts that freeze up when you don't put the item in the bag and go slow as molasses.

The local wal-mart just started curbside pickup. A neighbor of mine tried it and she was happy with it enough to bring it up while we were chatting. I think you browse and purchase online and then set up a pick up time. They meet you at the pickup point and load up your car for you. No tips are accepted/expected.

Sam's Club has had this for a long time. Well, I think you actually have to go in but they have everything ready for you.

I am sure they are going to have a Linksys router they can just unplug it and plug it back in. Lol.
they will have Techs on hand, that's the point you trade low paying cashier jobs for higher paying tech jobs albeit less of them , not necessarily a bad thing.
Wasn't this on Earth 2054? Every item you bought was put right into a database where an algorithm used it to help determine the level of government healthcare you were eligible for. Actually, I think this was in the design PDF for Magic Leap, the high-end AR glasses system that has received many billions in funding. I believe it was also in that AR-based short film Hyper-Reality that came out not too long ago.
I don't need this to eliminate lines as I do that by shopping after 1am.
