I am not justifying slavery in any form, but for the most part, with the exception of a few cruel slave owners, slaves were treated pretty well, you do not beat the horse you ride.
If the roles were reversed, and you were owned by a black man who denied you your Constitutional rights and freedom, and who would whip you, sell you, hang you for any reason, I'm sure you wouldn't consider yourself "pretty well treated".
Would you?
And despite your insistence that you are not justifying slavery, you really are.
I am more than happy to apologize for whatever role my ancestors may have had in it.
Well, now that you have broken the first rule of litigation, you can now after having admitted fault pay for all the damages to these tender hearts that are in pain due to the actions you have chosen to accept fault for.

Good luck with that, hope you have deep pockets!
You're funny, NxtGen. That ain't how it works. But, I shall continue to be sorry that slavery was ever an institution in this country and all others where it occurred and is still, to this day, occurring.
It seems a little disingenuous to demand that people get over slavery because it happened 175 years ago, but not to get over things that the founding fathers did 227 years ago.
If you don't get over slavery and move on, then you will be enslaved for eternity.
