im not sure how many people in America know this but slavery ended in a bitter blood bath 150 years ago. Every slave owner who would owe an apology is long dead.
Like GI Joe says, "Now you know, and knowing is HALF the battle!"
When force is used to make people do things they do not wish to do, a bunch of resentment and bloodshed is created.
Everyone from those days are dead. Apologize for what?
Lol, truly. Also bearing in mind that folks back then didn't seem to require that apologies be issued before "closure" could happen. Being forced to give up their land and homes under occupation ( called Reconstruction) amongst many other things and they should apologize for slavery? Slavery was the aristocracy's thing, not the whole people of the Southern states.
Issuing apologies is a modern thing. Ask Obama. He's a master of apologizing for things on behalf of all of us.
If you want to actually read history, I know that is asking a lot, as bad as it was for the slaves the factory workers In the North had it worse. When the slaves became too old or ill to work, they were cared for. The factory workers who could no longer work, were kicked to the streets. And many of the factory workers were indentured, they were working to pay off a debt for the voyage to the new world. They barely got enough to eat.
True it was actually blacks selling blacks but the Whites did do the buying.
And they've been dead for a very very long time.
