Looks like another temper tantrum in reaction to the Boeing CEO's comments a day earlier.

Boeing needs a trade war like a hole in the head with all it's exports, tariffs are a two way street.

As it turns out, that seemingly random outburst against the aerospace company came within an hour after the Chicago Tribune published a column quoting Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg offering some tepid criticism of Trump’s aggressive trade rhetoric against China. “Muilenburg suggests the Trump team, and Congress, back off from the 2016 anti-trade rhetoric and perceived threats to punish other countries with higher tariffs or fees,” read the column, by Robert Reed.

I thought I read that the STATE of Indiana was paying the $7 million.
Indeed Indiana is popping for the financial incentives and infrastructure improvements. Governor Pence could have done so at any time since the announcement.

Carrier Union has made clear that 700 jobs will be saved. 300 non- Union, design jobs were never on the chopping block, despite the noise. Union and Carrier both have confirmed the ongoing intent to eliminate about 1300 jobs by moving certain operations to Mexico, as planned.

Carrier manufactures equipment for export. It makes sense to do so from Mexico because Mexico has more free trade agreements with the rest of the world than any other country. The ability to export without incurring tariffs allows Carrier to compete in other countries.

Carrier, like all multinational corporations, chooses to not limit sales to just 5% of the world's population that is the US. Free trade agreements are key to this.

Two planes with the need to transport the POTUS and VP around the nation and world. Yes it needs to be the safest war plane available. One of its Jobs is to get the POTUS out of an area in the event of an attack of some kind. I have seen too many of our leaders killed and shot at to not understand the need of replacement.

Trump Bashes Boeing After CEO
Every time Trump opens his mouth, the people at Airbus break out the bubbly and do the happy dance.

Boeing is the world's largest manufacturer of commercial aircraft. They face aggressive international competition. China has orders for 200 commercial aircraft in the pipeline. No shortage of non US manufacturers who would love to have a shot at a piece of 200 commercial aircraft.

Bush Admin began the legwork to replace the fleet. They scratched the plan in the midst of the financial crisis and in doing so, kicked the can to the subsequent admin. Specs are not final. Costs are speculative. Congress has not been asked to approve. That's up to the next Admin.

Likely the new aircraft would not be delivered while Trump was in office.

I believe you are correct.

I saw where Boeing is about to build some planes for The U.S in India.

Trump want to brings these types of thins back home.
Where did you see where Boeing is about to build some planes for the US in India?

Boeing has produced commercial aircraft in the US for 100 years.

Boeing has 2 major business units, commercial and defence.

Boeing's relationship with India goes back to the 1940's with the first orders for defense aircraft for the India Air Force. Boeing's commercial relationship with Air India goes back to 1960. Boeing does not manufacture or assemble aircraft in India. It does however service Boeing aircraft in India. Do you think it appropriate Air India ship a broken plane to the US for repairs? It also operates a flight training facility in India.

Airbus is Boeing's primary competitor. No shortage of US commercial airlines who fly Airbus airliners. Airbus opened its first US manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama last year and created new jobs. Apparently Obama failed to take credit and tweet about it.

Airbus broke ground on its second China assembly plant this year. They aggressively compete with Boeing all over the world.

Boeing finally agreed to build a finishing plant in China whereby interiors and painting will be completed in China on aircraft ordered by Chinese companies. Unions went nuts.

Guess Boeing could have held firm and not agreed to allowing their custom planes built for the Chinese market to be finished in China and in doing so, handed over the business to Airbus.

Wonder how many US design, manufacturing and assembly jobs are dependent on the 200 aircraft orders from China, in the Boeing pipeline?

Maybe Boeing should retreat from international competition for business and lay off 2/3 of its US workforce, eh.

3-4 billion seems really high, but Air Force One is pretty much like a White House with wings. It needs armor, sophisticated radar, and other equipment, so this really adds to the cost.

I love it when liberal heads explode over every word that comes from Trump. This is going to be a fun 8 years!

Merry Christmas!

Trump owns stock in all types of companies.

Unless we know exactly what his business portfolio is or isn't. It is very easy to see how steering business away from Boeing and to another company can enrich him.

Trump should be completely open about his business holdings. We should know without question.

The fact that trump voters don't even care to know.....

Loom trump just paid off a lawsuit for 25million dollars where he ripped off thousands of people.

His charity just admitted to breaking the law. He is profiting right now from the secret service who are spending millions. He can further profit by diplomats hoping to influence him stay at his hotels.

Come on, Trump's potential conflicts of interest combined with his past scamming behavior makes for profiting off of stuff like this but we don't know because trump refuses to be open about his business.

The secrey itself is corruption.
