Wrong. This thing is heavy-duty 100% (US-grown) cotton fleece - damn thing weighs nearly 3 pounds. Made from an ungodly number of panels to make it fit just so, reinforced for better wear, the works.
Compared to a Levi's hoodie, it's twice the cost to manufacture, yet costs only $10 more retail. And the extra money going into its making shows.
You're gonna make people mad with facts and actual examples.
Waiting on my US made stocking cap. $2 more than the Chinese one at target and delivered to my door.
Are you looking for extra protection when you hit the pavement? Is that why? If not, I have seen similar jackets for the prices I mentioned. You have to shop and try on a lot, but you can find good fits. Not sure past look and feel.
80% of the active pharmaceutical ingredients in medications sold here are manufactured elsewhere. If we're going to return manufacturing to the US, I think we should start here.

I do my best not to buy pharma. Zyrtec on a must have basis. Nothing else.
So you ask every merchant, scrutinize every packaging label, to find out where it's made? Ten to one, China.
Yep, that's what I've found too. I often ask the vendor/merchant if there is a version or item that I'm looking for made in America and they look at me and chuckle like she's so naive and say "sweetheart every thing is made in China".
My only real votes are called dollar bills. What are you buying today?
Clothes?
Tools?
Dishes?
Furniture?
We make it all baby, and if you take the time to google it, prices can be pretty close and sometimes even the same. Just cut out the middle man---the snake---the big box store.
My mother, (rest her soul). She bought a whirlpool washing machine 23 years ago. To my amazement it still works to this very day. And yes it was made in the USA.
Because it looks damn good. That said I have multiple jackets for different reasons. I have two made in the USA Carhart's, one older for beating around on the quad or whatever and one newer. Those are about $100. Careful with buying them because most of the Carhart's are not made in the US.

I have seen many Toyota and Honda Vehicles push well over a million miles, so I am not sure the point.
