I don't think so, see where it says "when the conflict began". If the article is correct he got cut off by Mcknight and took it upon himself to pursue him. That makes him at the very least an equal party to the aggression. Matter of fact if he had been the one to get out of his car and was shot by McKnight then McKnight probably would have walked.

SYG/Castle Doctrine laws allow you to defend yourself against a threat providing you have not provoked the confrontation. It's not a license to kill, basically it prevents law enforcement or a prosecutor from second guessing your actions to use deadly force when it's determined the homicide was justified.

Gasser was lawfully inside his vehicle when the confrontation began.

Additionally, it will be very difficult for the prosecution to prove Gasser provoked him, especially since the only video I have seen shows McKnight pursuing Gasser.

Right now, I'm just going by the law and the evidence being reported. If more video shows up, that could change things.

the fact that a man died and that investigation needs to be the main focus, but he's more concerned with internet comments is silly. There was no point in doing that other than trying to already set the table for Gasser to walk. They are already setting up the angry black community narrative before they do the ole razzle dazzle.
