Viola Desmond has been called Canada's Rosa Parks.

She has been honoured by Canada in leading the equal rights program.

That is good news.

Canada is such a horridly dull country (Quebec is an exception) that anything which alleviates the blandness is welcome.

What does putting a black person on the currenxg do to alleviate this "blandness?"

I'm sure blacks have made so many contributions to Canada...far exceeding their population size.

You think Canada is bland? You should visit the rest of the world. North America and Europe are comprised of the most ethnically, religiously, and philosophically diverse countries in the world.

And Montreal is not dull? I suppose if you think chain smoking in an ice shack while debating the merits of different types of live bait in French is exciting, Quebec is your oyster. (I actually like ice fishing and have done so in Quebec, but the idea that Quebec is fundamentally more "fun" than English Canada is silly.)
