Christie Blatchford: B.C. teacher fired for having the wrong opinion | National Post

Quote:
A teacher at a posh private school in British Columbia was fired last month after making an innocuous comment about abortion to his Grade 12 law class.

Though there is no way of knowing, since discipline matters are shrouded in secrecy, it may be the first time a Canadian teacher has been fired not amid allegations of impropriety, but for having the wrong opinion.

Certainly, Lori Foote, a spokesperson for the 60,000-member-strong Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation, said Wednesday that no one at the association is “aware of anyone being fired” in Ontario in comparable circumstances.
How unbelievable! A 17 year old whiny student gets a teacher fired just because she got her panties in a twist, not just once but twice over something so absurd!

You really need to examine your blind devotion to all things "conservative" and hatred for all things "leftist." Otherwise, you're not engaged in thinking; you're simply a victim of mind control.

Reality, I'm afraid, is a bit more complex than that.

Rather than voice an opinion on abortion, he should have just had sex with her, since it's way more difficult to get fired for that, at least in America.

I've examined and reexamined it. I'm a self thinker and not devoted to anything. Many conservatives don't agree with my views. You're way off. Liberals will not stop imposition, scapegoating or support for mass global migration and won't support liberty so they are no good to me.

People are fired and their careers ruined for merely having an opinion or making a statement liberals do not approve of and you act like that is acceptable and not alarming? I find it intolerable.

Utter insanity. Repressive. Thought police. Spoiled rotten girl. Thoroughly incompetent and shameful administration.

And I mean every word of that.

signed,
A Leftist

I hope it's as easy for him to sue in Canada as it would be here. He deserves every penny he can claw out of them.

Interesting, but I can't speak for what Canadians should do in their own country.

Agree. I wish some of the Canadians who opine on all things US had the same attitude.

Nor can I, but I do think some of what happened this election is a response to fear that such over-the-top thought policing is making its way through academia here.
