(NBC Exclusive) "U.S. intelligence officials now believe with "a high level of confidence" that Russian President Vladimir Putin became personally involved in the covert Russian campaign to interfere in the U.S. presidential election, senior U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News.
Two senior officials with direct access to the information say new intelligence shows that Putin personally directed how hacked material from Democrats was leaked and otherwise used. The intelligence came from diplomatic sources and spies working for U.S. allies, the officials said.
Putin's objectives were multifaceted, a high-level intelligence source told NBC News. What began as a "vendetta" against Hillary Clinton morphed into an effort to show corruption in American politics and to "split off key American allies by creating the image that [other countries] couldn't depend on the U.S. to be a credible global leader anymore," the official said."
Claimed but not proven plus according to the reports, it had nothing to do with the outcome of the election. I am sure all of us are appalled with the report if there is any truth to it and there could be, but it doesn't change the outcome of the election. Face it, she was a flawed and bad candidate: end of story.
I don't think you understand the difference between actionable intelligence and the legal standard. The Intelligence Community can not wait until thy have enough information to garner a prosecution in a court of law before they conclude "those guys are up to something". I believe the CIA has actionable intel, but for national security reasons can not reveal their evidence.

This sounds like the yellowcake controversy. The CIA blamed Italy for the fake intelligence on Saddam trying to acquire enriched uranium.

How do you know? How can you definitively say that Putin had nothing to do with it? Where are you getting your information from, that is so much more relevant than the most sophisticated intelligence organizations on the planet?

Seems the left is embellishing on that fake news as they go along. Gets sillier by the day.
It will never be proven but I do think there was an indirect back channel of communications between the Kremlin and Trump. When the DNC was hacked Trump was not in the picture; Putin at that time only wanted revenge against Hillary. Later, as Trump began winning primaries and he began to look like the nominee, Trump would say, "Wouldn't be great if we could be friends with Russia?" At the time, Manafort and Page were on staff ... they certainly had the connections to Russia and probably served as middlemen. Remember, Roger Stone let it slip and said he was in contact with Julian Assange.
Tillerson's nomination, along with the pending multi-billion oil deal with Putin, closes the loop. The fix was in.

BTW, Roger Stone never said he was in contact with Assange. Stone said he knew someone that was in contact with Assange's people.
The level of completely unfounded claims, and reports completely void of any facts by the msm is truly concerning.
It's time for the Obama administration to provide credible evidence of Russian interference, or cease all these unfounded claims.
