Democratic house minority leader is oldest in U.S. History (Representatives, Congress)

In march, Nancy Pelosi will be 77 while already holding the title of the oldest minority house leader in Congress. With such a large voter rejection of the last election on the status-quo democratic platform, is selecting such an entrenched democratic to keep pushing the same democratic platform the wisest for the democratic party?

Isn't new party ideas a good thing?
