This thread is frustrating so it is somewhat understandable, but drunk posting is still drunk posting.

Actually a small minority of people deny climate change....It is people who deny the facts that are the joke.

Further the finished product will then be shipped back to the US on huge ships, the construction of which consumed vast amounts of materials and energy, and that uses a huge amount of fuel to transport it back.

Then the ante is upped to 90% and another batch of businesses leave.

China and other countries may sign agreements, but they don't enforce them. Its just political theater for them.

So called environmentalists fail to realize that they often are increasing pollution by their actions.
The Chinese are no longer accepting the idea of no regulations.

They are forcibly closing businesses.

They made as much sense as yours.

The Chinese are not even remotely enforcing environmental regs at the US level. Businesses that are forced to leave the US for China or elsewhere because the costs to comply with environmental laws have made the business untenable are not facing the same regulations in China. Environmentalists do indeed contribute to increases in worldwide pollution.

I think the question is not whether there is climate change but whether all of the proposed or mandated actions will actually do any good. Closing American factories because they are too "dirty" does not reduce pollution if that manufacturing then moves to China or elsewhere where there is but only a fraction of environmental protection in place, and that's before the environmental impact of shipping the goods back to the US.

China is cracking down. What was in the past is irrelevant.

Nobody forces anyone to go where they can freely pollute.

"Nobody" per se, but the forces of the market are constantly at work in the background. Domestic companies that are burdened with the left's high taxes/excessive regulation will NEVER be able to compete with the low taxes/zero regulations/slave labor of places like China. It's mathematically impossible for a USA company to compete with a China company thanks in part to the high taxes/regulations put into place by the left.

You can't tax your way to prosperity

Only leftists do not understand this simple concept. Instead they always double down on their high taxes/high regulations platform, resulting in companies fleeing to the third-world and to places like China where they can pollute as much as they like. Leftists have made it soooooo profitable to do business in places like China it's no wonder so many companies leave America

That other poster above nailed it, in pushing for so many taxes/so many regulations these enviro-lefties are ironically causing MORE overall pollution

For the same reason that liberals, who endlessly voice their support of the endless growth of Big Government, NEVER, EVER send a voluntary check on top of their required tax payments. Yet to hear them talk, you'd think Washington is responsible for everything good in America.

In a nutshell: the people pushing climate change are either:

(1) Wealthy Power-Brokers who stand to gain BILLIONS of dollars from the "solutions" they are pushing (like Al Gore) http://climatechangedispatch.com/5-m...obal-warming/; Al Gore could become world's first carbon billionaire - Telegraph The Cold Truth Initiative

(2) Naive, brainwashed celebrities/trust fund babies (like DiCaprio) who fall for the propaganda because they don't have the intellect to identify obvious bias in reporting, or to investigate the unbiased scientific studies and polls of scientists http://www.climatedepot.com/2016/01/...s-dishonesty/; Quantifying the consensus on anthropogenic global warming in the scientific literature - IOPscience http://www.nationalreview.com/articl...us-ian-tuttle; Forbes Welcome What consensus? Less than half of climate scientists agree with the IPCC “95%” certainty « JoNova

If you go back and read you will see where I note that things like carbon taxes are stupid but not any less so than your vast generalizations.

You don't compete with pollution by polluting.
