What did you expect? First things first. Cut taxes for the wealthy and corporations, gut health care for working people to pay for it. Next comes changing regs to let banks pick your pockets. After that, education. There is no need for infrastructure to make America more competitive. Profits are just fine making everything overseas, thank you.
The USA will continue to crumble but as long as the cronies on Wall Street and Corporate America get theirs, all is well with the world. The birther in chief will see that his coffers are filled as well and will sadly leave the nation in as bad a financial mess as the last republican did.
People run as President, like they can be dictators, promising the world. When it is the Congress that pulls all the strings. So, when we look back on history and the economy once the federal government go it's greedy hands all in it, we have to look at the control of congress to see how we went the direction we did, when we did it... The President just agrees or not and then enforces it.
So did this apply to Obama and the Republican Congress?
I have been looking all over the house, can't find that- trump promise tracker !! Anyhow if the first few promises are deleted, then the rest move up like candy crush? The first 100 days the wall, was there. But not infrastructure ... That promise must have been later.
Don't waste your breath with him, he is a libertarian, so he would have a corporation buy the bridge and toll it
Theres nothing wrong with private companies building, operating and maintaining bridges, roads, tunnels, etc. As long as the government has well written contracts that delineate exactly what is expected of the private entity, this project delivery method works fine. Don't want to pay the toll? Don't use it. Nobody is forcing us to take certain routes. And we don't get things for free either. It costs money to build and maintain infrastructure. Either we force everybody, including non-users, to pay for it through taxes, we let the infrastructure deteriorate and crumble, or we have the people who actually use it pay for it via fees and tolls.
Even his inner circle have begun to explain that his utterances are "symbolic".
