U.S. third-quarter economic growth raised to 3.5 percent | Reuters

Dec 22 The U.S. economy grew faster than initially thought in the third quarter, notching its best performance in two years, amid solid consumer spending and a jump in soybean exports.

Gross domestic product increased at a 3.5 percent annual rate instead of the previously reported 3.2 percent pace, the Commerce Department said in its third GDP estimate on Thursday.

Oh no, this can't be true ! According to Trump and his choir, the country is on the verge of collapse and Obama should be charged with treason ! But, I guess if the National Enquirer and Wrestling Quarterly are your sources of information, you would believe that.

Anyone with eyes and a memory should be able to see how much better we are than just 8 years ago. That did not happen on its' own.

You are right. The Federal Reserve has done a masterful, overly cautious, but a terrific job of fiscal policy management. Totally outside the purview of any president's administration policies.

Had Mr Obama played more golf with Congressional leaders, instead of his celebrity pards, he might have gotten something done on the monetary policy side. Have to be a leader though, disregarding slights, strong words and such to roll up the sleeves to get serious work done.

Having bragged about being a bigger success than a fellow poster, as though keyboard macho proves something, you understand the economic facts, right? The roles of fiscal and monetary policy?

I don't think Obamas legacy will be based on a improving economy. If anything we have mostly stayed stagnant while adding a lot of government debt.

Obamas legacy will be normalizing relations with Cuba and LGBT rights. Both good things, but that's about it imo.

You are right on the limited legacy. Hooked the tee shot badly on the economy, where it counts for all Americans.

Yeah. I personally don't think there was much of a difference between Bush and Obama economically. Bush was probably a slightly better president, and that's not saying much.

The real disaster of Obamas presidency is the ACA. The only good thing about it, is it has woken Americans up to our terrible health care system.
