So now if you are receiving Social Security payments and have your child handling your finances, you no longer can own a gun. Thanks Obama for screwing the little people again.

BTW, when is the last time an 80 year old who is too feeble to handle their own finances went out and shot up a theatre?

-----------------
Seeking tighter controls over firearm purchases, the Obama administration is pushing to ban Social Security beneficiaries from owning guns if they lack the mental capacity to manage their own affairs, a move that could affect millions whose monthly disability payments are handled by others.

We are liable to see some really crazy Chit come out of Obama the next 3 weeks. It's almost comical to watch him try to self destruct the US.

I'll celebrate the day he leaves office.

I have no problem with this. The mentally ill should not be allowed to own guns. The other day an elderly man in PA went to the store and ended up in Alabama. People with that kind of degraded mental ability have no need to own a gun.

Why in the world would you have a problem with this? If someone does not have the mental capacity to manage their finances, why should they own a gun?

I thought mental health was already a criteria. It certainly should be.

This is fake news anyway, because the article is 1.5 years old, and being sold as if it just happened.

With the center of the bell curve of "diagnosed mental disorders" becoming increasingly bulbous and less tailed, soon everyone will have a psychiatric/psychological diagnosis. Official forms might have check boxes for "mental disorder" and "victim of..." next to race, ethnicity and marital status. The State needs to save us from ourselves; it will prescribe the type of medicine to go down while our cultural circus provides the spoonful of sugar.

I've argued for years that we should have the conversation about guns and the mentally ill. Obama had eight years to do that. This is much ado about nothing as it means nothing.
