So:
If Palestine came into existence on 1/1/2017 then what would it look like?

Let's create some ground rule.

All the Jews leave the West Bank.
Jordan gets its 9 km boundary of no shared border with it.
Egypt keeps its 2 km boundary of no shared border with it.
The City of Jerusalem (within the walls) becomes internationally controlled per the original Mandate.
Since there were no negotiations with Israel, all commerce is ended with Israel and none can travel through Israel to get there.
Since there were no negotiations with Israel, all Palestinians (Arab Israelis living in Israel are not affected) are terminated from their jobs in Israel and there are no related Israeli jobs in Palestine as all the factories were shut down and bulldozed (as the Arabs did in Gaza).
Since there were no negotiations with Israel, all utilities created by Israel that emanate from Israel are cut off (water that comes in naturally stays intact).
Since there were no negotiations with Israel, Israel puts in a concrete barrier that encompasses the entire shared border of both regions.
The Gaza Strip gets full sea access limited only by its borders with Israel and Egypt.

Now create.
Since we are opening the "what if" can of worms, what if we add a little spice to it by looking into a VERY INTERESING scenario - hypothetically, that is.

What if Palestine came into existence on 1/1/2017, AND we arm them with the same amount of Nukes, and military strength as we did with Israel? Do you think balance of power will be the greatest deterrent against violence that will automatically bring peace AND justice to both sides in issues like water access, housing, land distribution, sea access etc?

The territories are already a massive parking lot, as the PA/Hamas leadership cut imports years ago by raising the import tax to 82% based on the cars cost.

No, because the Palestinians would not hesitate to use them until the entire area is uninhabitable. But Im glad you brought up the sharp contrast between the Israelis and the Palestinians. The Israelis have had the firepower to wipe out the Palestinians for decades, yet they have shown the restraint not to do so.

Do you truly believe the Palestinians would show the same restraint?

Israel gets what it gets due to a Treaty between it, Egypt and Jordan. What would the US gain if it penned a Treaty between it, Israel and Palestine? Israel is not given a blank check.

As the old saying goes, "If you want peace then be prepared for war"

Palestinians would certainly know that now if they try to use nukes against Israel, Israel will do the same and wipe them out as well.

So Palestinians would think a million times before indulging into any violence against Israel - which will automatically bring long lasting peace to the region.

Balance of power is a great deterrence against violence.

I took his post to be a hypothetical, so I answered as such.

The bottom line is that Palestinians are taught from a very young age at home and in schools to hate Jews. The Palestinian authority pays families to send their children on suicide missions. They vote terrorists into their "government". There is no way that they could possess such weapons and NOT use them on the Israelis.

Sorry, but they gladly die to kill Jews. This isn't conjecture. It is history.

Pretty much all of this can be said against israel too, no?
There is quite a lot of such indication in youtube videos from israel - but that's not the point.

The point is, how can long lasting peace AND justice be brought to the region. We simply discussed a hypothetical scenario as per with the theme of OP.

IMO, Balance of power is a deterrence against violence.

However, I don't 100% dismiss your concern. It is a possibility, but IMO, chances of it happening are slim.
