I would gladly not eat there. If that don't want those of us that want Trump, then I won't go. I hope they go out of business.
Just like some businesses can refuse service to certain people, they can do this if they want. The sad thing is some businesses that refused service (florist) to gay marriage are possibly being sued....

They are not comparable. If you are a Trump voter and want to eat there just don't tell anyone that's what you are.

However..... what a dumb business decision.
Sure they are comparable. As identical symptoms, after the fact. it's about the owner having a bias.
Being banned from a restaurant because of race is no different than being banned from a restaurant because of political identity. Neither of those have to do with the owners prejudice/bias. THAT is the cause of the problem. In order to address a problem, you have to identify the cause.

That said the owner should LAWFULLY be able to ban ANYONE for ANY reason. Government doesn't own that business. Not saying you are suggesting any of this.

And yes it is a dumb business decision, another reason to love the free market.

Way to go!
One can respect property rights without respecting the business practices of a property owner.

Perhaps someone should file a discrimination lawsuit against the restaurant. Keep the owner busy in court the next few years.

Regarding the bakery and the gay wedding cake. A Halal bakery would not be expected to make a specialty cake that had animal products in it or a Jewish bakery a cake with a swastika on it. All very different than banning someone from eating at your establishment because of their perceived beliefs, race or voting record.

I didn't vote for Trump but I probably wouldn't eat at this restaurant. I go to restaurants for food, not politics.

Politics is a religion... a faith. Nothing else

How about a sign that says "No gays will be served" or "no christians, muslims etc"?

Don't agree with the owner's decision on this one.

However, Trump snowflakes should focus more of their efforts on job hunting rather than wasting time writing negative reviews on a restaurant they've never even been to.

And that's the wonderful thing about freedom. You can go for the food, others can go for their politics.
