German cop faces CRIMINAL CHARGES for calling Angela Merkel 'INSANE' | World | News | Daily Express

There is of course this other propaganda thread meant to smear Putin. It deceptively leaves out the 3 year sentence for a man criticizing Putin occurred in Kazakhstan. Now I would not consider Russia a free and open society like the tradition in the US, but at least find an example in a Russian jurisdiction. We must think pretty highly of them to expect more from them than say Saudi, Turkey or China, or even Western European powers like Germany.

Might want to take some stock in the rest of the world and fear that we are quite surrounded by those that want to suppress the freedom of expression. Lots of safe spaces out there.

Progressives wish the US to be like Europe, while Europeans wish they were more like here. I'd side with the people who have to live in those so-called "great bastions of socialist success" who wish they were here rather than there.

People here won't know what they had until it's gone.

Merkel is definitely the new age SS commander. Germany is acting like it never left the 30's and 40's.

Americans should understand that the freedom of speech is one of the most powerful privileges that we enjoy. It is a powerful tool that we are free to utilize when the wicked thrusts their might upon us. This is why America perseveres, and eventually triumphs against evil, more often than not. We are not a perfect country, but we have freedoms that most of the world could only dream of. Use these freedoms responsibly, and for the benefit of your fellow American, so we never have to end up like Germany or Russia.

SHHHHHHHHHHH

You are here X

Here X is your designated free speech area.

There are many ways to shut people up while keeping the perception of freedom in place... until the day that there need not be any perception of freedom at all.

This is not fascism. This is totalitarian communism-light, coming direct from the STASI chancellor herself. One had better believe that she wishes that she could punish him to a greater extent. Merkel also openly hires her former STASI comrades to police free speech. Not naming the problem political movement only helps the problem to survive.

Most Americans can't fathom how backward Europe's restrictions on free speech are. Politicians face trial for speaking their minds about the dangers of Islam. Citizens' homes are invaded in the night to arrest people who posted negative comments about refugees on Facebook. Small children are arrested for saying another student is brown.

It's important for us in America to watch how things are done in Europe because there's a growing number of people who want America to follow Europe's lead on free speech restrictions.
