If my dad hadn't passed away, he was going to live solely on SS except for emergencies. He had no debt at death, and was going to get the top benefit, which is like $2,800/month. Easily doable in a low COL area with no debt

Just like Rubio did when the GOP controlled all 3 parts of the Government.

So the GOP playbook, cut taxes for the top 1% and then do not pay for anything. Increase spending to force even greater deficits.

Create HUGE deficits and start telling all the followers oh do not worry we are fixing it all.

We have already seen them fix the ACA by trying to kill it.

No matter what the GOP needs to lose control of the House and Senate.
Well, if that were true and there's no doubt that's it's not true, then you should be cheering them on. If the GOP or anyone killed off SS & Medicare, they would be completely wiped out.

Lightbulb GOP to kill SS and Medicare after election

If they lose control of congress, it'll slow down their plan.

But they're patient. They know if they can cram Kavanaugh onto the SC, he'll be a strong ally in their cause to keep crushing the middle class.

His view on executive immunity is just a cherry on top.

You are more than welcome to invest your own money, however you are obliged to contribute to social security.

They believe what they're told to believe.

They're very compliant followers.

Right-wing authoritarians are people who have a high degree of willingness to submit to authorities they perceive as established and legitimate, who adhere to societal conventions and norms, and who are hostile and punitive in their attitudes towards people who don't adhere to them. They value uniformity and are in favour of using group authority, including coercion, to achieve it.
Right-wing authoritarians want society and social interactions structured in ways that increase uniformity and minimize diversity. In order to achieve that, they tend to be in favour of social control, coercion, and the use of group authority to place constraints on the behaviours of people such as political dissidents and ethnic minorities. These constraints might include restrictions on immigration, limits on free speech and association and laws regulating moral behaviour. It is the willingness to support or take action that leads to increased social uniformity that makes right-wing authoritarianism more than just a personal distaste for difference. Right-wing authoritarianism is characterized by obedience to authority, moral absolutism, racial and ethnic prejudice, and intolerance and punitiveness towards dissidents and deviants.

It's what they're all about.

Yes, the standard GOP playbook is that the rich are just not taking home enough money, and to give them a bigger pay day, poor people must step up and pick up the slack. Those disgusting poor people, leeches, maggots on the government teat, those people need to be taught a lesson. As a consolation prize, along with their tax increases and benefit cuts, each will receive a pair of limited edition hand sewn bootstraps.

That's their goal. They would do it today if they could.

As it is the Republicans have done this before. The strategy is called "Starving the Beast". It goes back at least to Reagan.
Good. SS is ponzi scheme and Medicare is useless.
