The donors dont need any of those things. Donors set policy so they'll get their way eventually. With the new corporate SCOTUS justices, donors will get even more power in the coming years to buy legislation. How much money do you have? You have to choose whether to save up a few millions for health care and retirement funds in old age, or use those millions to influence your representative. Thats how our democracy will work in the coming years.

That's their goal. They would do it today if they could.

As it is the Republicans have done this before. The strategy is called "Starving the Beast". It goes back at least to Reagan.
Really? The GOP has killed SS and Medicare before? So who is sending monthly checks and giving health coverage to all those retirees I know?

Must be Soros, right? He’s such a gem!

Nearly every other western nation (mostly in Europe) have made changes/updates to their social security schemes. Taking into account things such as increased longevity, changes in marriage (introduction of same sex, high divorce rates, etc....), changing roles of women and so forth.

Large among those changes are dealing with fact workforces are shrinking; that is fewer younger people are working to pay into SS funds that provide for those who are retired.

Some of this is due to natural aging populations along with decreased birthrates. But there is also the vast changes in labour market; things such as productivity gains thanks to technology meaning companies need fewer workers.

United States social security scheme is still largely based on a 1940's or 1950's family and employment models that no longer exist. SS also fails to deal with that unlike previous years when someone retired at 65 and was dead by 70, many are living well into their 80's or even 90's. In short you have retirees drawing SS benefits for 30 or more years; which in some cases equals or exceeds length of their active working careers.
Any non-corrupt politician would advocate for massively increasing minimum benefits for the elderly and the disabled, not cut it. We are the richest country in the world and the disabled get $600-700 a month if they're lucky and the elderly get $1000 a year even after having worked 40 years? The cap should be immediately scrapped and taxes increased so the elderly and disabled can live in dignity. The current levels are absurd.

Why not kill puppies? They are on your list after Mexicans, gays, Muslims , blacks, women who abort, scientists, and liberals (which they will keep around for fun).

I agree that most of the current members of congress stink. But replacing them with establishment Demcrats or out and out communists does not improve the situation.

So that's the alternatives? Its either corrupt Wall Street crooks who are bribed or "out and out communists"? Wow, what choices we have! Funny how anyone not supported by Wall Street gets that communist label. Funny how that works. Who owns the mainstream media? Is it Jeff Bezos, Time Warner, Comcast and a handful of other mega corporations? Who do they serve? Is it Wall Street? Yes it is.
