Has there been any announcement on if the 30 hour mandate will be one of the first things on the chopping block?

Is this referring to having to work a 40 hour week in order to be eligible for benefits?

I was just talking to a friend about this today. She is older and thinking of trying a 4 day week.
I warned her this may be in the works but I haven't heard specifics lately. She had never
heard about this. Pretty sure she voted for trump.

It means if an employer has over x number of employees they have to give them insurance if they work over 30 hours per week or get fined.

The response by business was to cut full timers to 30 hours so they wouldn't get fined. Then the workers have less money and also get fined if they don't use a portion of their reduced pay to buy horrible insurance.

Worst law I've seen in my lifetime. Lots of low income workers out here trying to get a plan together for this year. If you didn't fall into these categories you have no idea how lucky you are.

So basically every full time job that didn't offer insurance cut people down to 30 so they wouldn't be fined. Hit the service industries hard.

People juggling babysitters, existing injuries, family situations, where it makes sense to stay at a job that on the surface might not seem like a good choice but due to circumstances...

It takes Congress to do this. And if they do, what happens to all the people between 30 and 40 or whatever hours whose companies immediately drop them from health coverage? Yes, siree! As I have said before what we have here is what happens when the dog catches the car.

This is part of Obamacare. There are many parts to it. The employer mandate is just one part.

Trump has not mentioned it, but I suppose it is on the chopping block as a negotiating tool.
