According to ^ link, all was well between the victim and his friend while they were out joy riding in a stolen car.
Chicago police say the victim got into "a play fight," which escalated and included racial slurs and references to the victim's mental capacity. The victim was able to escape after a downstairs neighbor threatened to call police and two of the attackers retaliated by kicking in the neighbor's door.

That's too bad. Not sure how that compares to kidnapping and multi-day torture where the victim had to actually ESCAPE, and would have likely been killed if he didn't, but keep reaching. Streeeeeeeeeetch as far as you can. Because you will never find a carbon copy of this incident in your bag of weak attempts at minimization and/or justification.
Seems pretty comparable to me. i would say again that even this case seems worse because the perps where out of their minds enough to live stream it. Otherwise is a lot tamer than some of what goes on all the time. Rape with a coat hanger is pretty much in line with scalping and drinking from the toilet. .

How have I tried to excuse any behavior? LMAO. This is the same forum where half of you tried to argue that Dylann Roof was mentally ill in an attempt to make it "okay". I have not once condoned what happened. I'm merely scoffing at the constant hypocrisy that is conservatism when it comes to whites and blacks and crime. I post the example of white kids doing a crime somewhat parallel. And in that case the whites didn't go to jail, so while you want to say blacks are excusing bad behavior on social media (laughable) white America ACTUALLY EXCUSES BAD BEHAVIOR IN COURT.
now, like I said, everything judicially that should happen is happening, even down to "hate crime" status. Nobody is getting a slap on the wrist here like white people get often. And by the way, make a few threads about when whites commit crimes too, so you don't look so racist guys.
This is why race relations are deteriorating; because you cannot have it one way. They rally cry should have always been: All Lives Matter. Stating that one race should have higher priority than another race is what pitted one race against another; like gladiators. It is also what caused slavery all those years ago. We are all humans and every life should be considered sacred.
If hate crimes have any teeth; they also have to go all ways. Whether the hater is Black, White, Asian or Hispanic; it should make no difference. It should also not make a difference if the 'hate' crime is husband hating wife, hating politicians or police. In this case it made no sense to me why there is even a discussion on whether this is a 'hate' crime - if you want to record your crime; you should be willing to pay the price.
By the way; did anybody hear our President speaking up against this crime?
Not the Obama directly. The press secretary is deported as saying it's "too early" to tell if it's a hate crime or not.
Seems the Obama is too busy clearing out Gitmo, ie, releasing known terrorists so they can join the Isis battlefield, making more land grabs by the feds to make the land inaccessible for any other use, picking fights with Russia and Israel, anything he can think of to thwart the presidency and efforts of Donald Trump to waste any time and effort on comments about these poor misguided children and their antics in Chicago.
