Syria and Assad. Wasn't our business to begin with. Syria and Assad are long time allies with Russia. From their perspective our activities were no friendly acts.
Tried to influence our election. My god, we have doing this exact same thing to others for how long?
Iran: Result The Shah
We don't have the moral high ground on that one. How many countries got stuck with corrupt, brutal leadership because we influenced their elections?
You make a good point about our past activities- I would also throw in Bush's Iraq war.

However, we don't always have the moral high ground so we take the low ground and befriend killers and invaders of other countries- is that the moral stance of today's USA?

Shouldn't our aspirations be a little more true to our stated values?

Or is Trump making billions in Russian businesses and dissolving NATO more important to us?

What "liberals" are you talking about who are upset because Russia abandoned Communism? Did you just think this "fact" up yourself?

The Russian oligarchy is making the citizens richer than the International oligarchs were in the 90s. its real simple. The Berezovskies would move out West and draw income from Russian industry and reinvest nothing. Under Putin the cash flows were re-domesticated and reinvestment occurred. That is why Russian more often have three bedroom modern apartments and cars instead of run down Soviet two bedroom apartments . That is why Putin is popular. Not perfect at all , but it will take a century to remove the Soviet disaster....eerily similar to how American leftists think economies should run. If Russian are running the country like they own the place, good, so much better than a hot money pit.

Great comparison. The US is better place to be poor because of the weather. We really pat our selves on the back for having such a superior civilization under California sunshine. If Russia had better weather and more arable land , I rather be there. Its actually free . You can disappear into in Asiatic Russia. If only it were like Southern California.

That's dudette to you.

And anyone who could imply, as you did, that Stalin only became "bad" after WWII is seriously history-deficient. Churchill and Roosevelt were fully aware of, for instance, this - The History Place - Genocide in the 20th Century: Stalin's Forced Famine 1932-33

Putin is no Stalin. But neither can he be mistaken for a truly democratic leader.

sorry, Ma'am no disrespect intended.

you inference that I believe Stalin only became 'bad' after ww2 was certainly not what i implied. I simply said we were allies during WW2 and that relationship soured with his continued human rights atrocities and shunning of modern capitalism
