The Army has issued a new regulation: Effective immediately, brigade-level commanders will be able to grant accommodations to servicemen and women who wear beards, turbans, or hijabs for religious reasons—the three most common requests for waivers to current guidelines on grooming and dress, according to a letter from the Secretary of the Army, Eric Fanning. The new guidelines also revise hairstyle standards for female soldiers: They can now wear dreadlocks in addition to cornrows and twists, which were allowed in a revision made in 2014.* Like other hairstyles, locks must be relatively small, uniform, neat, and tied off inconspicuously, and women don’t have to request an accommodation to wear them.

Obama is on a roll for these last few weeks.

Everything about it. In my opinion it's an influx of political correctness which has no place in our Armed Services. It is a further corrupting of restraint, discipline and a degradation of the military look. I think it's an awful decision and I hope it is yet another of the growing list of things which can be reversed after DJT is inaugurated.

Barry Sotero undoubtedly has his hand in this; all part of his plan to wreck as much of America as possible before he leaves office.

Our military will be grateful to President Trump when he overturns these regulations and fires anyone that has their fingerprints on it.

Are you being coy? These rules are culturally offensive to Americans.
Your thoughts?

Pentagon Relaxes Uniform Rules To Allow Religious Headgear : The Two-Way : NPR

Quote:
January 23, 201410:39 AM ET

The Department of Defense has released new regulations that relax prohibitions on the wearing of religious headgear, as well as beards, tattoos or piercings with religious significance, while service members are in uniform.

"The military departments will accommodate individual expressions of sincerely held beliefs (conscience, moral principles, or religious beliefs) of service members" unless it might affect military readiness or unit cohesion, the updated policy on religious accommodation said.

Reuters says that the policy, which is to be decided on a case-by-case basis, will mainly affect "Sikhs, Muslims, Jews and members of other groups that wear beards or articles of clothing as part of their religion. It also could affect Wiccans and others who may obtain tattoos or piercings for religious reasons."

The National Defense Authorization Act singed into law by Reagan required accommodation for religious reasons.

Here's the backstory:
