At the moment, I wouldn't be too upset about expanded Medicaid ending, because that's one of the reasons why the ACA doesn't really help me......if I wanted to buy insurance through the Marketplace, the only option I have is to apply for Medicaid. (there's a lot of reasons why I do NOT want that option, the least of which is that my doctor's office doesn't accept Medicaid, and I don't want to have to go elsewhere)
I am surprised that if you qualify for medicaid you are able to buy a private insurance policy and afford the co-pays and deductibles. The qualifying income for expanded medicaid in most states is 138% of FPL or $16,243 gross.

I could still buy a policy through the marketplace, I just can't get tax credits and would have to pay full price. (which I can't afford to do, not with the limited offerings in my state this year)
I do have my own insurance though, which I pay for myself. It's not perfect, and not an ACA plan, but it IS something, and is affordable.
it needs tweaking that is true- the people that screwed it up- were the INSURANCE companies!- greedy BSTERS-- but they going to leave people OUT in the cold, watch-- in one way I hope they screw it up royally- so people wake up and see the truth, but be at the expense of sick people and children-
"Make America Sick Again" .......... GOP base just doesn't have the common sense to see it. Now they will live it.

What do you have against going on Medicaid then? Seems like you created this coverage gap by living in an area with limited offerings and deciding to take "the moral high road" and not taking the best deal.
Personally, simply repealing Obama Care would be GREAT for me. Provided my old insurance becomes available again, I can simply go back to my old insurance that I was perfectly happy with and cost me much less money. It's about two grand a year back in my pocket for more or less the same coverage. The not so great part comes with the replacement side of things. California has strict guidelines for not dropping coverage. If federal law is changed such that California can no longer have those guidelines as they must accept policies written in other states, that wouldn't be so great.
For the country as a whole, I'm more split. There's some real benefit to the subsidies and pre-existing conditions rules. Personally, I think it could be done cheaper than a few thousand dollars out of my pocket in taxes to expand Medical or subsidize high risk pools but i don't really see there being nearly as much impetus for the replace side of things as there is for the repeal.

Out of curiosity, what is that? The only thing I can find is temporary insurance for six months. I'd still need to pay the ACA penalty, however, which makes them end up costing about the same so it isn't really worth it to me.

Please, please, become a believer, give him a chance, he LOOOOOVES the working men and women of America, he will grab those insurance types by the scruff of their collective necks and say in VERY EMPHATIC tones---JUST STOP IT!! That my friend, is the kind of man we will see at the helm, soon, I called him and asked for a job, and a really, really, neat car, he gave me the old thumbs up. Gollleeee, I just can't wait. MAGA

I am so confused...if you qualify for medicaid you can't buy a regular policy through the ACA, you are referred to your local welfare office to apply for medicaid.
