There was one. The lowlifes in Congress voted it down. 14 supported it.

Sens. Mike Crapo, Ted Cruz, Steve Daines, Jeff Flake, John Kennedy, James Lankford, Mike Lee, Jerry Moran, James Risch, Marco Rubio, Ben Sasse, Tim Scott, Pat Toomey and Rand Paul supported the proposal. All republicans btw.

I would laugh long and hard if he did this. Id also respect him a little bit for doing so.

But thats not going to happen. His stated goals on military spending alone require a large deficit.

What's that noise? Champagne corks popping in GOP conhressional offices.

Just another dishonest op from the usual Obamabots.
All of the the 14 Senators who voted for a balanced budget were Republicans. You were saying? Most of the republicans are scum. ALL of the democrats are. Clean you house out first, it's filthy.

Did they go down because of him or in spite of him?

Neither from what I can tell. While he certainly talked the talk on reducing deficits, presidents have little power to change them. I think some of the best times for it are when we have different parties running the house and senate.

When one party has the house, senate, and presidency is when we will see really massive spending.

Democrats had it for 72 days during Obamas presidency.
