"Amazon.com Inc. says it's expanded its U.S. workforce by more than 150,000 people in the last five years.
The hiring surge comes as traditional retailers cut jobs and close stores."
Trump has had little effect on Amazon's explosive growth which began years ago. They've been adding jobs like crazy annually.
What Bezos does need from the government is tax breaks, net neutrality laws and drone-friendly laws. In other words a pro-Amazon government. Bezos is a smart guy--he knows a little flattery goes a long way with Trump. Making him look good goes even further.
Amazon is pouring money into lobbying. Ergo Trump. Drain the swamp! Here comes more swamp in a the form of a hip Trojan horse.
The actual jobs are mostly at fulfillment centers and warehouses, so average anywhere from 9-12$ per hour. Not exactly the high-wage jobs Trump promised, but you can be unskilled and they will train you.

Not so sad about Sears and Macy's now?
B-b-b-but we need to bail those companies out because the jobs wont be replaced and the economy will suffer.

The jobs don't translate to each other. The retail workers would have to move to places where there are warehouses, be qualified, etc, etc. So the ones losing jobs will not only deal with that but will also deal with being unable to obtain health coverage as well as we make America great again.
Of course Amazon is hiring more. They are basically replacing people from the retail stores. Instead of going to K-Mart to buy things people go online.
Yep. When Amazon started building all those new regional distribution centers back in 2014 where most of these people will be working, it was because they knew the Trump creature was going to be elected in 2016.
More than a million news jobs announced and he isn't even president yet.
Yeah keep drinking your koolaid. That's the way we like you guys...stoned, partisan, and ignorant.
