If only the job creators for illegals were held with such disregard. Then we would get something done.

"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
Actually, Jesus was speaking about the nation of Israel and how the other sheep and goat nations treated Israel. If a nation treats Israel badly, then they will be deemed a goat.

Who is holding them in high regard?

I don't think anyone here is.

How are you going to get to heaven if you don't open your door to any and all comers?
If you join a church one day, you will quickly learn that people help the poor and downtrodden through the church. It is the most effective way because the church have a system in place to do it, and they just need the help from the members. You can volunteer your time or your money, it doesn't matter.

Loving your neighbor applies at every level. It is a very central teaching of Christ, second only to the message of salvation.

The passage speaks about all people, not nations as whole, which is why it says "he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats".

Does it make sense that you are judged based on your nationality? No, you will be judged based on your deeds.

How would your church react?
Who says anyone needs to kick in the door? Just wait for them to step outside. Are they really going to hole up in there forever? There aren't enough bedrooms or bathrooms to accommodate them. Likely not enough kitchen facilities (refrigerators, stoves, sinks, etc.,) either. And if their kids are illegal, they won't be able to leave the church to go to school. One step out the door, and boom. Arrested. Deported.

It does not matter if they kick on the door, or wait outside, or if the church members are even on church premises. They might encourage the members to not come in if it puts them in danger. That would be one way of protecting them.

Not all churches will participate in this. It will depend on how they interpret "Mans law vs God's Law" in this particular situation.

So... no actual "sanctuary" in Churches. Got it.
