This isn't going to be good for anyone, namely the nation as a whole, no matter what one's opinion on all of this.
Trump is being inaugurated in seven days, no matter what. These hearings won't bear significant fruit before then, if at all.
Now, Trump has all of the freedom in the world to order investigations into election season corruption on the part of the democrats, to include their solicitation of Ukraine to interfere in the election.
Even if Trump didn't want to investigate, his constituents will now demand it until he does. And, frankly, I bet he does now.
The 'let sleeping dogs lie' tradition in administration transitions and election seasons is now a thing of the past. I'd bet that Hillary wants things to go quiet, as she has her foundation's potential involvement with the State Department to worry about. Too late now.
And what options are the dems leaving themselves? They're going to have to keep turning this crank until they get their prize, because they've irrevocably moved themselves into the harshest of lights. They need a harvest, without which they are going to pay a lot. That is what this is about. Endless doubling down. It's a pathological strategy in this game.
I expect all the dems to come out in strong opposition to this investigation. I mean they said these meaningless investigation had to stop when it was the Clintons, so I'm sure they won't want more meaningless investigations of Trump.
Flynn called to offer condolences for Russia's murdered ambassador, and then for the loss of all the people in the plane crash that killed everyone on board.
BTW, where did the conspircy theory about Flynn negotiating with the Russians come from?
Monica Lewinsky may have had a certain influence over Bill Clinton but somehow I don't think that's an apt comparison to Trump and Putin.
The KGB has been interfering in other nation's elections since 1945, and it is valuable to remember that Putin was a KGB officer before he was anything else. That the FSB is continuing on in the finest traditions of the KGB ought not be surprising to anyone.
But it seems to be surprising to everyone in Washington, which must have Vlad and his boys doubled over in laughter.
Great questions. I'll add one more. What the hell is Russia doing in the middle of United States politics at a critical transition of power and why do so many Trump supporters think this is a good thing?
Trump supporter love Russia because they elected TrumPutin. They got a two-fer. Two strong men dictators.
A reversal. Just one day ago the Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) said they would NOT examine possible contacts between Russia and the Trump campaign indicating they did not have the requisite authority. McConnell, too, rejected calls for a committee investigation with broad powers. More information tonight on possible contacts between Flynn and Russian contacts - including numerous calls made between Flynn and a Russian envoy on the day Obama imposed sanctions. Burr's committee will have subpoena power.

Porn website level malware, for which Podesta had to physically provide his information and that anyone who isn't half-senile wouldn't have fallen for, is the KGB's finest tradition?
Forgive our eternal skepticism.
But you make a good point. Putin was a KGB officer before anything else, having trained under this spymaster and head of the STASI:
1. We believe that Putin and Russia have moved on from communism and have changed, and thus that his former KGB status is irrelevant.
or
2. We take your current warning and the Leftist taunts seriously, take Putin's past seriously, and begin routing this nation of all communist and socialist influence in order to protect ourselves from Russia.
In other words, it'll be time to feel the fiber of the Left's fabric. Let's see if this cold war pseudo-bluster and body-wrapping in the flag has any substance behind it.
Somehow, I predict that it doesn't and that all of the overly loud, under-educated, commie loving left isn't going to want to actually deal with the logical consequences of their reckless patriot-insulting cold war taunts.
Lol Hillary and democrats have nothing to lose. They lost..remember?
This is about way more than this election. They, and the nation, have everything to lose. Whenever your break tradition, such as that of a peaceful transition and to let some things lie, you've changed the political landscape forever and have put much more on the line than any short term gain.

Have fun. I don't see any logical reason why Flynn is communicating with Russia no matter what excuses he comes up with. This doesn't pass my fake news test. The president elect needs to get rid of this man now
We'll see in regard to any supposed communication. I'm unsure as to your concept of the meaning of "fake news".
The president elect doesn't need to do anything. This is not a consolation prize interim for the Left, in spite of the obviousness that it is their perception that it is such. In relation to the democrats in general, my twelve eight old girl isn't this bad when she doesn't get her way.
