I don't want the government telling me I HAVE to have health insurance & fining me if I don't. They already take enough out of my wallet as is. Get rid of that stipulation and they can do as they please as far as I'm concerned.
Oh.....and how about they start focusing on the ridiculous health care costs and renegade insurance companies first, then work on health insurance. It's out of control.

Trump just dealt a blow to the republican's priority of repealing the ACA.
Accomplishing repeal without causing the GOP a political calamity is a delicate enterprise, and the last thing they want is to have him popping off at the mouth and promising things they can’t deliver. Which is what he just did:
“We’re going to have insurance for everybody. There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.” People covered under the law “can expect to have great health care. It will be in a much more simplified form. Much less expensive and much better.”
“It’s not going to be their plan, it'll be another plan. But they’ll be beautifully covered. I don’t want single-payer. What I do want is to be able to take care of people."
There you have it folks. According to our new president, insurance for everyone will: cost less and be "better"....whatever that means.

I agree, but in return we need to ensure that hospitals and providers can throw you out if you don't have insurance. If a person does not have private insurance, they need to be restricted to only those who will take welfare cases. No more being able to declare bankruptcy for running up medical expenses if they decided not to have insurance. Lets get rid of this notion that healthcare should be a right. No, if you have insurance great you get care because you made the decision to provide for yourself, but if you don't have insurance or you don't have the cash, die on the corner for all we should care.
I bet he is talking about Health Savings Accounts (HSA) - save your own money and surely you will have enough to cover that 500,000 plus cancer treatment. It will be beautiful, believe me! Don't have enough to save? Here's a little voucher that will cover a couple of months while you figure out how to cover those treatments or at least plan your funeral.
Oh, and insurance companies will be able to sell across state lines and that will solve all the problems! Unfortunately for that situation, some states already allow that and the insurance companies have not been interested into getting into that mess of new networks, etc.
The ACA did have some issues which needed to be fixed. Some middle class people were paying huge premiums and high deductibles with no controls - I know some of them who just missed the cut off for subsidies. That is not right.
I hope one outcome will be to raise these issues to such a level of concern that the plans for skewering Medicare also will be publicized and scrutinized much more.
