From your own post:

These tickets are for the more attractive viewing areas, and they are usually hard to get. Usually.
Do you actually think anyone of importance is going to buy a ticket from a scalper? Get real. It doesn't matter how you libs try to spin things, every time you do, it makes you look like fools. There's no need to purchase a ticket to see the inauguration. Plain and simple.

How on Earth did importance get into it?

There was a thriving market in scalped tickets a couple of inaugurations back. There isn't this time around. Plain and simple.

And fun to watch.

There are tickets for the inauguration ceremony, at least according to the senate.gov website.

Yes there are. They're free.

Just read a story in the Washington Post that ticket demand is less than 2008 but about the same as 2012.

EarthCam - National Mall Cam

Just found the above link on Twitter -- live webcam of the Mall. I'm actually surprised at how sparse it looks considering it's 7 minutes until his speech. I actually expected more turnout. Usually folks are crammed in there.

This is a link to a live webcam of the National Mall in Washington DC.

From the looks of it at 11:55 AM, five minutes before the swearing in, the eastern half of the mall is less than half filled in.
