On what foundation do you assert that the news that you hold to be "real" is "real news"?
I can't remember the last time that I read MSM "news", on a politically contentious topic, that would not easily qualify as propaganda.
The MSM routinely shapes the narrative to fit Left ideological conclusions, omits critical information that would support an antithetical conclusion, makes politically biased presumptions, and uses messaging tactics that are not journalistic in nature.
I could go to the google news feed, click on any random political story on any slightly contentious topic by any media outlet of note, and make a clear case for the story being propaganda.
The "fake news" appellation was a ham-fisted attempt to mirror and counter the much more nimble and astute Right wing meme messaging.
It was clearly invented by a committee who does not know what they are doing in the new news environment, and as such it backfired horribly on them.
To this day, its beyond me how MSM strategists thought that institutions with an almost fatal credibility problem could make work a strategy to make the accusation of "fake" against outlets that often provide the additional context that they omit. They're either too out-of-touch to be employed in their positions or they have zero respect for the average American's intelligence.
This type of thing will keep happening, as the MSM gets ever more desperate to signal their long-dead messages via their long dead messaging platforms. They've lost all credibility, and so they are seeking more salacious and less journalistically valid stories, in an attempt to be heard, that will ultimately dig their credibility hole deeper.
In short, their solution to being seen as corrupt outlets for partisan propaganda is to increase the degree of partisan propaganda.
It's akin to a gambler mortgaging the house because he lost all of his savings.
Complaining about the "fake news" meme backfiring is akin to the same gambler complaining about the last bet.
And the Carrier plant isn't saving 1100 jobs, they are saving 700. 300 of which weren't going anywhere anyways (administrative jobs). And they are still moving the fan coil production to Mexico in 2017 which is estimated to be around 600 jobs.
Again businesses don't change plans that have been in process for a year or more based on a President elects proposed policies, because the President doesn't write legislation nor does he vote on it. He can propose legislation, but if congress doesn't write, and pass it there isn't much he can do.
Just perusing the Internet it is a minimum of 700 job. My point still stands.
I don't see Fiat/Chrsyler listed your posted tweets.
The pissgate thing? When was it proven true? It's always been labeled as unverified...Buzzfeed just released it for clicks.
CNN never reported any details of the pissgate dossier, only the fact that it existed and that Trump had been briefed on it. He denied it, a d called it fake new.
No, it makes me question the news media's honesty and credibility. They have been partisan hacks in the pockets of the liberals for a long time, and their abandonment of even a pretense of any journalistic neutrality or professional ethics in their quest to destroy Trump discredited them IMO long ago.
I always knew that Trump had zero integrity and credibility, so that is certainly not news. Really the only question is whether America can survive - and in what form.
Do not underestimate Trump's ability to undermine and destroy the basic underpinnings of democracy. One of the most important first steps in that process is de-legitimizing the press. Why? Because demagogues like Trump cannot stand the light of day, a free press is their greatest enemy.
I think you have that bass ackwards. The press has delegitimized itself by abandoning any semblence of journalistic neutrality and becoming the mouthpiece and cheerleaders of the left wing liberals and their partisan agendas. They are the ones striving to destroy the basic underpinnings of democracy.
What I don't underestimate about Trump is his ability to stand up and face those who would destroy him, call out BS when he sees it, and come out ahead of the game.
Yes, but companies don't like to be targeted by him, and many already have been. BMW and Mecedez Benz were the latest victims, and their stock holders lost money. It's easier to say something to appease Trump, even if its old news in new hat, than take the hit.
That is scary. Rule by bullying. Reminds me of middle school/high school.
