Honestly I don't have a problem with these, usually Republicans go straight for direct aide programs for the poor so it's good they didn't do that, yet.
I do wish theyd not cut ENRD of the DOJ but it's not the end of the world, since I'd imagine the federal government won't be doing much litigating to protect the environment over the next 4 years.
So how many Federal workers will lose jobs because of this move?
Will they be transferred to other depts?
Will Trump take credit for costing any of these employees their jobs?
Since 2 out of 3 Americans have some kind of retirement plan, they would benefit from oil gas companies. How is that a bad thing?
Higher energy prices means higher monthly electric bills for people and higher gas prices for vehicles(which impacts the economy negatively because people have less money to spend elsehwhere).
Wasting energy (being non efficient on purpose) is wasteful and reduces finite resources and causes pollution and increases the speed of climate change. In other words, we spew more pollutants in the air for people to breathe (cause health conditions) and also increase the speed of climate change which can cause billions of dollars in property damage and crop damage due to rising sea levels and weather events caused by climate change. The bad outweighs the 'good' and regular everyday Americans get shafted.
It's like saying - let's produce a car the gets 5 MPG so that people spend more money on gas so that the oil companies make more money. That's your argument. Makes no sense unless you are are billionare that owns massive oil/gas fortunes like Trump's buddies.

I guess it's time to join the rest of us in the private sector.
As far as those working in ENRD, they'd probably just move to O&G then transfer back when a Democrat is elected next. This is what happens in DC all the time, Democrats hire Consultants, Republicans hire Lobbyists. They're the same people, they just rotate back and forth.
Oh, hey! Let's get rid of departments that may produce data that'll be unfavorable for billionaire businessmen.
Oh... and violence against women? Who cares about that? Minority businesses? Who cares?
Come on... they're not cutting funding. They're cutting these out of spite and spending more elsewhere. Since when did a Republican CUT spending overall?
