Depends on the rock. If someone is throwing a golf ball size rock at the head, its time for them to be shot.

If she was sick and tired of those primates harassing her, threatening her and damaging her property she could have gotten a video of them, identified them and then gave their parents the bill.

I agree on both your points.

At least she could have just fired a warning shot into the air. That would have sent them running just as effectively, I'd bet.

Hopefully the other boys have learned from this....

Police intervention didn't work the first time.

Better to be judged by twelve then carried by six

We don't have the complete picture here.

But what it sounds like is that she was assaulted by multiple attackers throwing rocks. If that's what really happened, she's justified.

You can't be hit with a rock if you're inside of your house.

A surveillance camera would have been better than shooting a gun at them.

If she only wanted to scare them and not hit them why not shoot toward the ground.

Agreed , not enough details here. It does seem like no win situation. A video camera would certainly be the best choice but I have no idea if that was already tried. If it had gone on for months then you are going to want to document it on video. Now if she were surrounded and cut off from retreat, rocks can be a deadly weapon. Then its a good shoot. Based on the information it could go either way.
