But in some states, nonviolent demonstrating may soon carry increased legal risks — including punishing fines and significant prison terms — for people who participate in protests involving civil disobedience. Over the past few weeks, Republican legislators across the country have quietly introduced a number of proposals to criminalize and discourage peaceful protest.
Worse, in Indiana....
Republicans propose bill making it legal for police to kill protesters
The Indiana state legislature is considering an authoritarian bill that would essentially allow police to kill protesters with zero accountability.
Republican senator Jim Tomes introduced Senate Bill 285 in January, though it was given its first committee hearing on Wednesday. The bill authorizes city officials to use “any means necessary” to break up a group of 10 or more protesters blocking traffic, “even to the point of costing lives.”
Sorry. don't blame republicans for NAZI actions of progressives that have gotten unhinged.
those peaceful protests has ended in cities on fire.
republican voters beaten bloody
police gunned down in the streets while protecting "peaceful protesters"
I do hope that every state in the union attacks the "civil disobedience" of walking into the streets and blocking traffic by adding a 100,000 dollar fine to any person engaged in such activity. and if you cant pay, you go to jail for a thousand days.

Yeah, no mention of what the bill ACTUALLY addresses, which is disruption of the population by blocking traffic in the guise of protesting. Protest all you want but get the hell out of the street.

Hey, why not? It's not like it's mentioned in the Constitution or anything.

What ignorant comments!
Freedom of speech stops before any imminent lawless action. Please note, you don't even have to act. As long as your speech becomes "imminent," it's not protected anymore.
