I thought this was interesting. A few decades ago Mrs. Nixon saw Donald Trump on a TV show and was so impressed by him she told Richard Nixon about it. Richard Nixon wrote Trump a letter telling him if he ever ran for office, Mrs. Nixon said he would win. Trump saved the letter and plans to hang it in the Oval Office.

There is a picture of the letter here: https://www.google.com/amp/insider.f...?client=safari

I saw that earlier. Amazing.

One thing you can say about Tricky Dick. He was a lot smarter than many gave him credit.

Surprises abound.

Wow, what a great job reference (and role model) - Richard Milhouse Nixon.

Color me unimpressed.

Job reference?

It was a very brief note from Pres. Nixon saying how impressed Mrs. Nixon was with Donald after seeing him on Donohue. He did not predict Donald would win the presidency and he did not provide a job reference.

Whether you like Nixon or Trump or don't like either, it's still an interesting historical connection. Maybe it belonged in the history forum. .

Well two paranoids, who both have enemies lists, and who both received criminal assistance in winning their respective elections.

But some differences--Nixon was monogamous, religious and parsimonious with his own money, while Trump is polygamous (or a serial adulterer anyhow), parsimonious with his own money but generous with others' money.

Think they'll both end their admins in the same way? Crooks having hearings followed by impeachment?

Nixon was said to be off his rocker and delusional by the time he left. Trump is already there.

Was that before or after Nixon's Justice Department sued him?
