There are so many important and interesting shows on PBS; Nature, Nova, Frontline, PBS Newshour, Call the Midwife, National Parks: America's Best Idea, Lewis and Clark special.....

I am noticing that the men that came before us who had wealth did a lot to preserve things for the future generations. Parks, libraries, museums, public lands etc... and now those with wealth want to turn their backs on Americans reduce funding and preservation for something we all share; including public broadcasting.

Uh, because HBO expects to make money off of it? Because they have more expertise in the digital space than CTW does?

NOVA and Masterpiece Theater are the only shows on PBS I tune into from time to time.

I used to listen to Wait Wait Don't Tell Me via the podcast and Car Talk from time to time.

If it was not for the foresight of people such as Teddy Roosevelt we very likely would not have the National Parks (difficult to imagine how a republican could have done something so environmentally sound...things sure do change). And we know this about the Parks history thanks to PBS...

And if you are not a contributor and enjoyed these shows, you can thank the people that are. Among various others, I love "The Antiques Road Show".

Need more tanks and bullets baby! Oh and tax cuts. Gotta have tax cuts and deficits. They are the party of fiscal responsibility.

Is this a feeling or something backed up by data?

Are you serious? Anytime land, refuges, sanctuaries or waterways are declared a national treasure or monument, the let's destroy the environment and let's privatize everything crowd loses their large intestines. If it were not for men that came before we'd have nothing.

Exactly. I was thinking of the man who had the idea to preserve Central Park in NY too.
