You forgot that some don't have a job and could not afford to attend. Others don't ... make enough money to attend.
That was exactly my problem. I would have gladly attended if I could afford to go, but my hours suck, and nobody aside from management can get more than 28 hours per week where I work. Half the positions were full-time 10 years ago, but management made it abundantly clear why nobody could work full-time anymore. (Guess why?) On top of that, nobody volunteered to bus me to Washington DC either, so I was **** out of luck. Thankfully I wasn't scheduled to work today, so I could watch the inauguration on TV. Right now, I'm about to take a shower and use some of my meager funds to have a steak at the local all-you-can-eat buffet for dinner. And who knows? Maybe this year I'll be able to find a full-time job in the field I've been studying for for the last two years.
It was a great speech. He campaigned to drain the swamp, and today, he took ALL of them to task for being the turds in the swamp.
