Watching the Fireworks at the Lincoln Memorial last evening I couldn't help think "I wonder if Trump got them for a deal from Hillary since she didn't use them Nov8th..
I also felt a nice feeling of Patriotism in myself. America now has a fighting chance to carry on in its greatness and be exceptional.
Trump is not the best candidate but he ran a great race. He has so many detractors that hate him but I don't hear many of them saying they would rather have Hillary for President they instead go back to Obama.
America dodged a bullet on Nov8th and today is a day to celebrate that.
Today I feel Patriotic and Happy for the Future but if the alternative had won I would have been very fearful.
Imagine that alternative poised to select supreme court justices, pro open borders and pro increases in refugee migrant programs, determined to destroy the Second Amendment while being beholden to foreign powers due to their "donations"

I'm curious how you're defining freedom (and socialism, but I know where I am; asking for a coherent and correct definition of socialism is a waste of time, despite the fact that it's really a simple concept at it's roots that shouldn't be easily mistaken). I define it, in the context of what you're obviously talking about, as political freedom; the ability to engage in politics. Most Americans actually already have that and have had that. The issue isn't that they aren't 'free,' it's that they're entirely apathetic to actual politics.
Most Americans simply choose not to utilize their liberty, and as such, this does make it easier to take away, but in general, aside from the blatant disregard by the United States government of things like privacy and warrants, your freedoms (or rights) are basically entirely intact. At least from what most people fear as being the antonym to freedom, which is the government, which is, to be blunt, stupidly narrow. To get right to the point, if you ever think to yourself "well all politicians lie and there's nothing we can do about it, so why bother," you are anti-political and contributing to that problem, ironically. The media upholds this lie. Even politicians uphold this lie... I mean, that's basically what Donald Trump ran on. And the lie, to be clear, is that there's nothing we can do about it. The issue is that no one is doing anything about it because they simply do not give a ****.
