If large corporate presence alone was the determining factor of state income tax, states like California, New York, Illinois all home to many large corporations would have no state income tax. On the contrary, California and New York have some of the highest state income taxes in the country.

These are political affiliations and describe the set of belief system and principles of a person. It doesn't mean we that we are inherently bad people.

I truly agree with everything you are saying here. I think we see eye to eye on this issue. California is a die-hard radical, practically communist state, where everything is heavily taxed, regulated and the government has power that even supersedes our Constitution. California also has 50,000+ undocumented illegal immigrants who do not pay taxes yet also contribute to the strain of the system. For example, unpaid hospital bills, prisons, uninsured drivers/accidents, etc that all contribute to rising costs to tax payers, insurance, etc.

Please do not turn Washington anymore into California than it is becoming. About 1/3 the state of Idaho is now from California. My home state of Oregon is pretty much 40% Californian. They want to turn everything into another California and they cannot understand why the states start to suck and become unlivable like the last place they ran away from.

Washington use to be much more like Oregon which use to be much more like Alaska. Today it is becoming a mix of California, East Coast, since so many people moved to the Northwest from these places and like to push their belief system on the local population, who more or less is being pushed out or disappearing.

There is some good or bad to outside ideas, but unfortunately the bad ones same to make their impact and mark on the society more than the good ones.

The ultimate irony is that you would say this. Anyway, we will never meet unless you need help and even then you won't ask how good or bad I am. You'll be grateful that I'm there.

I'm reminded of something about leopards and changing spots when one spends their days calling Obama a Mullah, etc. Seattle is a better fit for some than others. The unhappy ones come and spend their days complaining. Like the Seattle protests yesterday, we pretty much put it all out there.

As I said if you want to help that should be what you are doing, not ruminating about it here. Ya think?

Rotse, ya gotta teach me how to be willfully ignorant, I am going to need that talent in the next four years.

Yeah, CA is a communist state and seeing how it now ranks 6th in world for GDP, I guess everything we learned about communism and how it doesn't work is wrong.

G-d bless Trump? I read the bible, both the Old and New Testament, care to show me where in the Torah that G-d takes a liking to those that star in porn movies, likes to walk in on under age girls changing and likes a good old fashion grabbing a woman's kitty? I know that Jesus hung out with a prostitute, but as a religious man what characteristics of Trump do you find appealing?

Stay chill Seattle.
So succinctly said: over corruption, prejudice, and hatred, he won indeed.

Many many women and minority and "majority" voted for him, because we are sick and tired of the established corruption!

Except in Seattle where he only received 8% of the vote. Because this is the Seattle forum.

YES Seacove! We could make the Yakima and Walla Walla people pay for it, (or deny them entrance for their favorite shopping trips to Bellevue).

I was listened to KUOW Friday and they were interviewing inauguration attendees, including a family of American missionaries in Ghana that had come to praise Trump for bringing back the "Christian values" to America.

I nearly spit my coffee out.

I hope they stayed around for the march on Saturday. Maybe asked a couple people what was up with all those pink, kitty hats...

My first reaction to this was to laugh! And then realizing that there are supposed religious people that actually believe this made me cry a little inside. Well, only 3.99 years till our next president, unless Congress or Putin decides a President Pence would be better.
