It's really, really hard to get people to change their ways and embrace a new way. Especially people who have been down and depressed which most people dependent on welfare are I'm sure. If people are desperate enough, they will change but how desperate are we willing to make them? It's going to be a tough one for sure.

The thing with Democratic Leadership and they have created this fiasco, is they talk a good talk, but they keep people at arm's length. Tell poor black folks how the white man has screwed them over, but then give them a Walter Payton stiff arm and keep them out of the good life. Keep them in welfare and keep their votes. They have done this forever. It's a terrible cycle that is going to be tough to break.

We shall see. It's nice at least he wants to do something about getting welfare people back to work.
Never heard Obama mention anything about that and I'm pretty sure he didn't mention it at his inauguration.

Uh, his entire first time and most of his presidency was about getting people back to work.

You may have missed it if you only consumed right wing hate news...

In a way welfare is the opium of the poor.

These welfare programs and public housing were intended to be temporary solutions. Now you have people in 'the system' for life and as we know there is a lot of crime and other issues associated with that.

If someone's high blood pressure is uncontrolled and prevents the person from holding down a job then the person is disabled.

This is a combination of a unemployed people with limited job prospects using lawyers and a system that allows them to claim lifelong disability payments over things like high blood pressure and diabetes, both that are treatable with medication. It's a system where states that are paying welfare payments are motivated to pay third party companies $2300 per claim to move them to disability so the states don't have to pay welfare anymore. These disability payments are coming out of the Social Security budget which Republicans love to say is going broke and these disability payments are costing us $260 billion dollars.

Somehow I doubt we're going to see Trump attack those rural whites who are defrauding the system.
Whites? Do you think there is no such thing as rural Blacks in places like Mississippi?

You seem to make the mistake of thinking this can't be changed too.
