Only if they use the position to insert themselves into politics.

Both dems and repubs get low grades when it comes to attacking the first wives and their kids. If you don't think so search through the CD forum for proof regarding the current family.

You know can honestly say never heard much about or from Laura Bush as FLOTUS. She kept to herself and the affairs largely associated with that role and didn't seem to meddle in affairs that didn't concern her, perhaps that is why she was so well liked.

Probably the most recall hearing from Mrs. L. Bush was in the days and weeks after 9/11/01. The FLOTUS did some television commercials and other media events aimed at families with children about how to reassure the wee ones that things were "safe". Again something you'd expect from a First Lady who herself was a wife and mother.

Just because they liked to drink, doesn't mean they were promiscuous.

No, but did you ask the same question about Michelle Obama?

Some have been nasty themselves generating criticism.

Laura Bush was benign and never seemed to be under fire for anything. And I think people felt sorry for her having to put up with George...lol.

Nancy Reagan was criticized for being cold and aloof and nutty because of rumors that she would have psychics and astrologers go into the White House to help them with decisions.

You should stop thinking, You are going to hurt something!

I seem to remember that old friends of Laura claimed that
she was the "to go to" for weed when they were younger?
Maybe it was in a book written about their wilder years or an interview of old friends?
I of course have no problem with that and thought it a fun fact
back then.
