Obama strongly criticized Bush for raising our national debt...yet he doubled it.
He called Bush irresponsible and unpatriotic in 2008.

Should Obama be called the same thing?..

_____

“The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion dollars for the first 42 presidents — number 43 added $4 trillion dollars by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion dollars of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child.
That’s irresponsible. It’s unpatriotic.”
- Barack Obama, At a campaign event in Fargo, ND

Yes, and Congress as well. Unless the country is fighting a defensive war or suffering from a calamitous natural disaster, I see no reason to go into debt. It is tratorous to burden the country.

It depends what causes the debt. Huge tax breaks for the billionaire class and perpetual war mongering is irresponsible.

Yes. The Bush tax cuts cost us trillions and all we got was the recession.
