Instead, he says, Republicans are going to fix the ACA.

I remember Ted Cruz's reason for shutting down the government to keep the ACA from being implemented was because he said once people had access to healthcare they would never allow it to be taken away. Judging from the angry constituents showing up at congressional town halls across the country with their number one concern being the repeal of the ACA, I'd say he was right.

So, how will the Republicans appease their hard-line supporters who are clamoring for repeal? Maybe they'll simply make a few tweaks, rename it TrumpCare and pretend it's something completely new. I bet that would be enough to fool the cult.
we will need to let them call whatever they want. Then once they are fully done , then and only them mock them relentlessly.

Democrats thoroughly effed up a great healthcare system, now they need the adults to fix it.
You have got to be kidding. At least many now have insurance as they didn't before it. Insurance prices were going up every year way before any one ever heard of Obama.

ACA is not perfect and should be fixed. But the only way to really fix it is to go to a single payer system which the Dems could not get passed and I doubt the Pubs will even try to implement.

Please share how the ACA royally screwed up the healthcare system in this country.

The ACA is legislation, not insurance and not healthcare. The ACA was all about who gets insurance and how it's paid for.

The US Healthcare has never ranked particularly well when compared to the rest of the developed world.

Health premiums on average increased by 100% between 2000-2010, before the ACA.

Health insurers have been exiting the Individual Plan Markets in droves for more than 25 years.

When one look back on the transcripts of the testimony Hillary gave before Congress 25 years ago, one would think she was describing right now, insurers exiting the Individual Plan Markets, contraction of
insurers via mergers and acquisitions, runaway costs and thus premiums, influence of Big Pharma, lack of access by people who need it the most and so on.

Trump promised to repeal and " replace Obamacare with something that will take care of everybody and the government will pay for it". This has been echoed by his Admin. No reason to believe the Admin will not deliver, is there?

You mean when the majority in both Houses refused to allow Republicans any input on it originally and it had to "be passed to know what's in it"? Then?

You have been misinformed. Let's go over this again.

In the beginning, Republicans had all sorts of input. Democrats bent over backwards in a naive effort to make it a bipartisan effort. All for naught, as in the end not a single Republican voted for the final bill.

The oft-quoted Pelosi statement was in reference to the Senate version of the bill. There was all sorts of speculation on what it might or might not contain and how the House would then deal with this that or the other.

Pelosi stated that the House would have to wait until the Senate passed their version of the bill for them to know what would be in it and thus go forward with the reconciliation process to the final bill.

This has been explained on this forum hundreds of times.

Sometimes this forum feels like being in a memory care facility where the residents keep asking over and over where the bathroom is.

Nah, of course you didn't.

In any case, the man understands how Congress, particularly the House of Representatives, moves and shakes.

Besides, any neophyte could've told you that repeal wasn't gonna happen. Hell, i've been saying it on these threads since Republicans started threatening it years ago.

So to summarize, not a single Republican in either the House or the Senate voted for ACA to expand health care coverage and to insist insurance firms treat people fairly.

Then for 6 years, Republicans tried to repeal ACA. 50+ attempts.

Now they have the power to repeal ACA but what do you know, lot of people, even some of their RW constituents, are opposed.

While some were eager to repeal Obamacare, they sure didn't want anyone to take away their ACA subsidized insurance.

Imagine their shock at finding out ACA and Obamacare were one in the same. Many were flabbergasted at the news.

So Republicans find themselves in a tough position with no one to blame but themselves.

What is happening with repealing ACA anyway?

Repeal and Replace was going to happen on day one but needed a few tweaks.

Then it would happen as soon as Price was confirmed.

Now what's the hold-up?
